Permian 7 Trinity 20 (3rd quarter)

For all us West Texas fans, it doesn't look too good right now!

Trinity is the real deal. I think they may get the title this year. They probably should have had it last year.

I went to the game. I don't know how any HS in the nation could beat Trinity the way they looked today. They are HUGE, athletic, very good throwing QB, they have got it all. We sat on the Trinity side and got to see that "Haka" dance. Pretty cool. It was a great atmosphere at Shotwell. Permian's side was jam packed and loud. Right before Permian came out at the beginning of the game, the field crew put up a giant sign that said something like "the haka is more like a hula". When they opened it up, the Trinity fans went nuts. Then when the pregame Haka was going on, the Trinity fans went nuts. Then, the arsewhoopin began. Would loved to have seen Permian win, but so impressed with Trinity.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Permian's #14 (Pride) playing on Saturdays. Berryhill (38) had flashes of how good he has been all year. The problem was that Trinity had 3 and maybe 4 LBs and DBs that were bigger and faster than he was.
