Did he die due to injury or was it natural causes?

Evel Knievel, the hard-living motorcycle daredevil whose exploits made him an international icon in the 1970s, died Friday. He was 69.

Knievel's death was confirmed by his granddaughter, Krysten Knievel. He had been in failing health for years, suffering from diabetes and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, an incurable condition that scarred his lungs.

Knievel had undergone a liver transplant in 1999 after nearly dying of hepatitis C, likely contracted through a blood transfusion after one of his bone-shattering spills.

I always figured he'd go out while performing a stunt. I figured that was how he would want to go. RIP

Evil was crazy but he was cool. i grew up with the evil kneivel motorcycle toys. they were neat. i remember wathching him on ABC Wide World of Sports on several occasions.

Ok now your giving away your age. We had some idea of your age when you said you actually played with the toys. The clincher was "they were neat".

My kids fuss at me for using those words. Don't ever say "neato" unless you just want to get a rise out of them. ;)
