AUSTIN -- Suspended Texas football players Andre Jones and James Henry were indicted Thursday on felony charges for their alleged involvement in a July robbery.

Jones, a freshman defensive tackle, was indicted on four counts of robbery. Henry, a freshman running back and safety, was indicted for knowingly destroying or concealing stolen items.

Texas coach Mack Brown suspended both players after their arrests following the alleged July 27 home invasion.

Bill Hines, who represents Henry, told the Austin-American Statesman that his client was looking forward to clearing his name in court.

"The only thing he's guilty of is being a good friend," Hines said.

Ariel Payan, Jones' lawyer, declined comment to the newspaper.

According to court documents, Jones was involved in stealing a laptop, electronics and marijuana. Henry was asked to dispose of the stolen property, according to an arrest warrant.

Former Texas safety Robert Joseph also faces aggravated robbery charges stemming from the alleged incident. He had already been dismissed from the team after his arrest on a separate burglary charge in June.

Texas (No. 20 BCS, No. 17 AP) is awaiting a bowl invitation.

or how about we let them go to trial and see how that turns out

indictments are the easiest part for a DA

oh yea, that damn due process crap. I'm with ya, they need a fair trial first. And if convicted, see above.

Tough year for Horns on field (by their standards) & in legal system too. Better clean it up Mack or your program will get a Miami-esque nickname...

By the way, I've presented hundreds of cases to Grand Jurys. And in my experience, if the evidence ain't there, you don't get the indictment. Its not always the easiest part. The easiest part is when the defendant admits he/she has no leg to stand on and takes a plea bargin.

HAHAHA yea the admission is the easiest part lol

I wouldnt mind if they paid college players only as long as they eliminate all football scholarships, force them to pay for school, and give those scholarships to those students who earn them academically
