To tell you the truth, as a team, our expectations weren't high to begin the season... I mean I know at least 5 people who said we might not make the playoffs before the season, and they were on the team. But when we beat La Grange its like everything got real.

Why'd he get kicked out?

I knew it wasn't a two hitter...

We won our season opener at your place 15-2, lost the middle game at our place 8-6, and then won the rubber game in the LaGrange Tourney 15-4.

I didn't recall anyone throwing a two hitter at us last year.

I'm working on perfecting it at the moment, but yeah, it can get pretty sick when I throw it right... it's kind of difficult though because its not a regular change... I hold it with my two middle fingers like a 4-seamer then cock my wrist and let it kind of roll out, so it looks like a fastball but drops out of site to a righty... hard to explain. My best pitch is my hook though.

I love pitching in our park. It's like 350 down the lines. lol

Seriously though, it says 320, but its more like 330, power alleys 365-370 and center it says "385" with a 20' wall, but its more like 405... so you'd have to hit it about 455 to get it over that wall.

I believe Caldwell is returning a lot of kids. Don't know much about La Grange but they are usually tough. 23-3A turned out to be a good district last year and looks like they will again in '08.

2 of the top 3 pitchers returning, including myself and sophomore Derrick Hadley who did sensational last year.

One major plus we have going into the season, are two lefty pitches who are pretty decent... One did not play last year cause he was sent to AEP and the other was the 1st baseman... but a good core of the team is back.. Lost 4 starters, my friends just need to step up and continue tradition. Good coaching always helps...

Jasper has 5 starters returning including 3 of their top 4 hitters and their #2 & #3 pitchers returning. I'm really impressed with their coach, too. So I think they will do very good again. Once again, Reg III has several great teams so it will be a dogfight to get out of that region.

Obviously you are on the WRONG site. This is 3A FOOTBALL not baseball. Baseball is for the guys that don't like to get hit and put out the effort to play a contact sport. Some BB players think they can't be touched but they can. Look out at home plate. I will be watching.

For sure district and the Region III playoffs produced the toughest games for Jasper. That may be clearer when you consider Jasper had to play Bridge City twice in district, and three times in the Region III finals. And the Region III finals was the week after Bridge City dispatched a very good Number One ranked, undefeated Carthage team in two straight games.
