Oklahoma vs Kansas in the Fiesta Bowl???

It's not out of the realm of possibility. Here's an exerpt from a DMN article today:


TOSTITOS FIESTA BOWL: If Missouri beats Oklahoma in the Big 12 title game and goes to the BCS national championship in New Orleans, the Fiesta has indicated it will select Kansas to replace the Tigers as the game's Big 12 anchor. KU could face either Arizona State or Illinois.

If Oklahoma beats Missouri on Saturday, the Fiesta has indicated it would still select Kansas to face the Sooners in an all-Big 12 matchup. The teams did not meet in the regular

Thought by rule a BCS Conference could only have 1 at-large team after NC game picks?

So if so & Mizzou wins, Big 12 team goes to Fiesta Bowl to fulfill requirements. Could you still get another at-large team?

I think 2 is maximum for BCS bowls per conference.

You are correct only 2 teams per conference.

It states that if OU wins then Fiesta would still select KU.

Mizzou would be left out.

OU and KU in Fiesta.

only way it is a All big 12 match up is if OU beats Mizzou knocking a Big 12 team out of NC title game

Kansas has 1 loss to Mizzou

OU will be playing in the Fiesta Bowl

Fiesta Bowl will pick KU over Mizzou

KU and OU have not played

Fiesta Bowl picking Mizzou over KU sets up...

3rd game between OU and Mizzou

OU won first 2 games

Last game both teams played was against each other in Big 12 Championship
