Interesting article I ran across while reading on the Miami Herald website. Tells a little more detail than I was famioliar with realted to the sports drink market and the invention of Gatorade.http://www.miamiherald.com/news/breaking_dade/story/322692.html

Kidney failure...hope it's not from drinking all the electrolytes and sodium that are in Gatorade!!!

Actually the article says that the Univ of Florida gets the royalties (110 million since 1973) the drink makes. Pepsico owns Gatorade.
I guess the Dr. got a healthy raise but the Univ. owned his invention since he worked for them, then they sold it.
