If that QB for Velt is "on" as he was Friday night, I don't see how the Mustangs can lose.

A lot of people on the Gilmer side are extremely worried about this game.

I wasn't shocked that Royse City went down, but I think many of the "professional" Buckeyes were and a lot of time has now turned out to have been wasted reviewing RC video.

I never even considered that. What insight you have. I imagine there was A LOT of time spent planning and getting ready for RC. I know the Gilmer coaches were at the Wills POint game scouting RC...just like RC was scouting Gilmer when they were at Spring Hill. Too bad RC can't use any of those efforts next week. Maybe Traylor and Coach Webb have talked and Coach Webb can give Gilmer something valuable. I know we didn't stop them (Roosevelt) but if we can give Gilmer any little piece of information that helps the cause then so be it.

Coach and son will be there. Will had a chance to visit with GJ Kinne during LE's game vs. Gilmer this year. I'll be in Winnsboro at girls basketball. Yee haw.

I know. That's why we get in their tournament every year! They are consistently the team to beat around here. I would rather be at football because 1) it should be a great game, and 2) I don't behave very well at basketball games (!), and the shame tends to make me enjoy myself a lot less!

I'll speak for her. No. That would be Winnsboro, TX. I think they're always ranked #1 in the state in 2A, as they currently are. Awesome program. Winnsboro is a little over 20 miles southwest of Sulphur Springs.

I'm sorry. I should've said southeast of Sulphur Springs. They have been an extremely good program for as long as I can remember. At least the last ten years. I don't know how many times they've won state. Does anyone on here know?

Sorry we've hijacked this thread for girls' basketball! But here's the link to the forum about the Winnsboro tournament:

There's excellent competition there, and the two sides of the brackets are mixed 1A-5A. #1 ranked teams Martin's Mill(1A) and Winnsboro(2A) have to match up against much larger schools (and they usually do that well). LE will play either Sulphur Springs(4A) or Georgetown(5A) this evening, after beating North Lamar and Martin's Mill yesterday.

Winnsboro was awesome in 3A as well, but they didn't have the record Canyon has.
