Does the school not provide the same kind for all the players??

I think the only time Forney ever did was when stadiums use to have astroturf installed, and you couldn't wear normal cleats.

Celina should look into it though, or atleast require it to be a white cleat. It looks bad with everything else orange.

We had a pair of practive cleats and a pair of game cleats. When we made the playoffs and started playing on turf, we got all matching turf shoes as well. Our policy was that nothing could be worn unless the entire team had it. Like stockings, or long sleeve shirts, etc. We played as a team and they made sure we dressed as a team.

So if it was 35 degrees, and a player didn't want to wear long sleeves they were forced to? Or the scrubs were forced to stand the entire game without long sleeves?

I know how to take good pictures. You go out and get a Canon EOS 1D Mark III that you can push the ISO to 6400 on. Top that off with a 400 mm fixed F2.8 Canon lense. Camera body about 4 grand. Lens is about 7 grand. You basically have a good used car hanging around your neck. Money will buy you good pictures. I prefer to take pictures earlier in the season while the sun is still up and save my money.

BTW what is that the Celina players do during their pre-game ritual?

I have the Rebel XTI. It does 95% of what you will ever need. I just saw them in the paper this weekend for $599 with a lens. They were $850 last year.

The Canon 20D will go to ISO 3200 which puts you within one stop of the 1D for less than half the price. Canon also makes a 70-200mm lense that is F2.8 through the whole range. That is the best "affordable" sport lense. About $1,200.

Not to make this a camera geek thread but...

ISO above 1600 is real noisy. My best pics are ISO 1250 with a 300 3.0 no flash and the action from the hash towards me on the sideline. Fairly low noise, no need to crop-zoom and a little more focal length.

Try running Noiseware on the pictures. You can get rid of most of the grain and noise. It is free on the internet.

I think your camera has a custom function that enables you to push it to 3200.

I am considering getting a 100mm fixed F2.0 or a brand new 85 mm F1.8 that is just out. You end up having to blow it up a bit unless the action is right in front of you.

I don't mind geek threads.

I sure hope we travel well this week. Be an early leave to get there in time if they don't let school out early. The 160 miles may keep some of our older fans at home.

I have the 85MM 1.8. It is great for Vball and Bball! At $375 it is too cheap to avoid! I refuse to use a flash at a sporting event so the big glass is a must.

Why refuse to use a flash??? When shooting football it's almost a necessary...especially at virtually all HS fields.

I second the noiseware software recommendation. It does a great job removing noise and allows me to shoot in ISO 1600/3200. Now I just have to wait a bit longer to get the bigger glass! :)

I don't use flash indoors and thus the need for the 1.8 glass. I prefer not to use flash outdoors as I shoot several frames per second and it does not refresh fast enough.

Ideally, the stadium has enough light, and I have enough lens!

Yeah! But, we did not fill the stands like we normally do. Many fans of ours took this game lightly and decided it was going to be a blow out and so did not go! The field is nice! Stands are small on both sides. Good luck! Parking might be a problem and watch your speeding getting there lots of DPS be safe.

They used to be free...but he got mad back in 03 when Gainesville ISD (maybe it was their local paper) used some of his pics on their website without asking him if they could...so he's gone to great lengths to protect the photos now. First it was disabling the right click...then a small watermark or advertisement...now a big watermark!!! Too much work IMO.

Then again...it's really easy to just do a "print screen" and copy/paste the photos like our HS friend above this post just did! ;);)

Looks like their going to have a scrum in the endzone or something. Is this an intimidation thing with the gobblers?

Okay...I picked a couple from the Carthage game...

Hit of the Game...Our guy laid the hit, but both left with concussions

Lets try again,

Well I hope #15 gets to see what the Ab. Wylie defense looks like from his view in a couple of weeks. I think that would be a classic matchup, but for now both teams have a lot of business in front of them this week. Good Luck!

One of Reeve's quirks is that he likes to flip the coin way before game time to make sure no one gets nervous and that all the right decisions are made. This is usually done under one of the goal posts. The actual flip before the game is ceremonial only. I don't know if any other teams do this or not.

Really good color and clarity. What equipment and lens are you shooting with and what kind of settings? I cannot get pics this good with my equipment. Not very many people can.

Im hearing from different teachers that were getting out early but I dont know for sure yet....They say thats why we started school at 10 on Monday, because of that game so I don't know.... Hopefully find out more tomarro or thursday.

First it was disabling the right click...then a small watermark or advertisement...now a big watermark!!! Too much work IMO.

Then again...it's really easy to just do a "print screen" and copy/paste the photos like our HS friend above this post just did! ;);)

There it is Thewyliefan!

That #15 is hittin' with his head down.....isn't that a "no-no"? No wonder he got a concussion.....only one step up from a broken neck.

That was just after they "hit" because the Carthage kid is going backward.

My favorite. Chase (5) has been the lead blocker for Will (28) all year. On this play Chase had broken 5 tackles at the line of scrimmage and the Monahans player had an angle on him about the 10. Will made up alot of field to block the Monahans defender which allowed Chase to score. Two teammates working together.

They are trained in levitation...

It is a pre-game ritual where the do an up/down before they bust through the banner. Think of it as a group head butt!
