Dang, then that was a long time for Ft. Stockton to go without playing a game.

The bulldogs won't take this team lightly. Sandfier will have a game plan and have his kids focused. Hopefully we'll build an early lead and put them away. Expect a huge crowd of Wylie fans. Sweetwater is only a 45 mile drive for us. ;)

I can guarantee you that Wylie won't overlook Andrews. Been there and done that in the past (loss to Vernon, Canyon, etc ...) ...

I think Wylie will pull away in the 2nd quarter, but it won't be by a whole whole bunch. In the 2nd half we will put in a lot of 2nd team guys and we won't score much if any, but 2nd team defense will stop them ...

This game will be UUUUuuuuuUUUUUGly even before half time. I'll be shocked if Wylie isn't up by at least 35 at the half. It may then tighten up a bit in the second half, with many Wylie starters on the bench.

Trap game for Wylie if they think they will roll over Andrews. If focused and playing at 100% then I agree with what everyone is saying, Wylie should have no problem rolling to the semis.

Does anyone know if Wylie will be the home team? Seems kinda wrong being on the Sweetwater side of the Mustang Bowl if they are. Sweetwater & Wylie have had some big battles there. Good Luck Dogs, Good Luck Snyder Tigers as well.

Where are all the Andrews poster's, I know they've been on here in the past. This is just like last week. For weeks you hear from all the Burkburnett fans, and not one peep the week we play them and now it seems like the Andrews fans are going to clam up during game week. Surely there is one Andrews fan on here that has something about their Mustangs, after all they've only lost one game all year.

Didn't ya'll scrimmage Andrews? IMO, Wylie should handle Andrews pretty easily. Kelton is their playmaker. Seems like when I was looking at stats before the Snyder game he had pretty good passing numbers, but against Snyder he something like 4-17 with 1 int. He also rushed 17 times. Keep him contained and Wylie wins.

This game should be over quickly...hopefully if it isn't, we aren't as good as we think we are. From watching game film so we can prepare practice for the varsity both the QB's from the game last week (Fort Stockton's and Andrews') don't have much of an arm and make horrible throws.

We'll just see what he does at practice if he even thinks the guy is that much of a threat, if he is, Coach has a game plan.

No prob...but um I was wondering...Aren't the away and home sides the same size seeing as it is a bowl, I can't remember if they just put the same amount of bleachers on both sides or favored the home side, not that it would matter I won't have a problem finding a spot to stand on the sideline?

One of the best things about the Mustang Bowl is that you can stand up at the top and move with the ball. Great view from there too.

Easy there Michaelp, you'll get the Stang fans riled, and then they'll start comparing theirs to ours and IMO we lose that battle. Plus they might know who you are, and spit in your nachos. Stang fans are proud of the bowl, and I don't blame them. Wish we had it.:weeping:

I'll give you the Mustang bowl has more histroy and aura to it than good ole' Bulldog Stadium. Guess we should have gotten in on those public works projects back during the Great Depression and had someone build us one too!! And don't worry, I wouldn't buy anything but maybe a bottle of water from their concession stand!

LOL, I think your wrong there micharlp23. I think those restrooms are more like pre-WWI era. But help is finally on its way. We just passed a $10M bond election for various projects around SISD. One of the biggies is replacment of those rundown restrooms FINALLY!!! Also the pink endzones will be delt with before the start of next season. Acually if its wet they are RED again. When I went by the bowl after the snow was melting the other day, there they were, just as RED as new. :D

Your are right! Our stadium did draw some playoff games a few years ago, but they were more for 1A and 2A. I would rather Wylie play in the Stang Bowl than any other Stadium in Texas. I believe it is the best 3A Bowl in Texas!

see what I can do. :D

I thought I remembered a comment from someone (obviously from S'water) saying they were going to use "Wylie blood" to re-paint the endzones.... who was that?
I love the 'bowl' also- eventhough I can't remember a time (when I was in school) that we didn't go there and get our johnny hind parts handed to us!!!

Yeah the "Wylie blood" statement was mine. And the endzones are still pink, so I guess that didnt work out to well for us. But it sure sounded like a great idea at the time. :D

Hey, I thought you were outta here. "You guys play too rough" I think was how you put it. Couldn't stand it could ya? That's what I like.... a woman that won't back down from a good fight. RWB.... don't back down from these "chaevenist pigs". Bow your chest out and stand tall. Just came from Wylie Booster Club meeting. Andrews 2 losses were to Estacado(still in the 4A playoffs) and was a close game, and to Snyder (50-15) but was 15-15 with not much time left in the first half. I'm thinking that Andrews is way better than this board is giving them credit for. I'll admit that Sandifer is a master at building up every opponent, but after listening to him do it for 25 yrs. you kinda get a feel for when he is BSing and when he's not. I'm thinkin he's not.

What if he is BSing to keep u from knowing that he is BSing, ever think about that. lol

If Wylie somes ready to play then they will come away with a win.

If I remember correctly, the Andrews QB got hurt in the first half against Estacado.

If you use most poster's logic, since Snyder beat them, and beat them handily, they must not be any good.;) Although, before Snyder beat them, they were ranked in most poll's top 20.

Yea, man I hate polls...I mean there not even close to true.

Giddings was number 1 this whole season and there not even playing anymore, now im not trashing them.

Polls are stupid in my opinion.

I am glad it's mostly fans and posters that think Andrews will get beat in the 1st qt. I really do not think this will happen! I think it will be a much closer game than people think!

Here's my prediction and I'm usually right.

Temp. in the low 50's around kickoff. Wylie side almost full and lots of purple. Andrews side about half full mostly black. The atmoshpere will be electric and the Wylie fans will be making some serious noise with the home made shakers.

And then at 7:30 pm central time.............................................. ...?

Sandifer knows anything can happen if you dont come prepared. As long as he has been coaching, I'm sure he has found himself and his team on both sides of that fence enough times to know being over confidant can be a death sentence for any team.
Having said that, I'm sure he will have his Bulldogs more than ready to go, and if so, I still think this will be a blowout by the half. But if they dont come in hitting on all cylinders, and Andrews gets mo on their side, anything can happen. Sandifer is just trying to guard against that I'm sure. As he should be!!!

Stang Red---- I figured I had pissed you off again, asking if we could put down that temporary purple carpet to walk down. And, as it turns out, Texasfootball2 is pissed off too, he was mad that I let everyone know that he has purple carpet in his house and in his 1985 VW LoveVan. CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY IN THE MUSTANG BOWL !!!!!! I wish the crowd would be so big that there would be solid people in the endzones on the concrete. Have there been many times where it has been that full?

LOL, I guess I missed the purple carpet post somehow.
I remember the Andrew's / Stephenville game that DU_stud talked about, when the bowl was full. But I also remember a Sweetwater / Stephenville game one time that was about the same. I dont know about now, but Stephenville traveled with amazing crowds a few years back. Andrews used to travel very well back in their 4A powerhouse days, but with all their down years of late (until last season), I dont know how well they travel now. I'd bet on there being a very large crowd Friday night. But really theres not a bad seat at the bowl. You can even see very well from the concrete on either end. In fact I really enjoy watching games from that vantage point sometimes. It's easier to see the plays unfold when the offense's back is to you. It is a long view though, when their at the opposite end of the feild. The biggest problem at the bowl with a large crowd isnt the seating, its the parking! Just get there about an hour early, and go to the west side. I always park at the softball field myself. It's much easier to get out of after the game.

I havent decided yet. Snyder/Argyle ought to be a better game, but I live in walking distance of the bowl, and would like to meet a few more Wylie folks. It'll probably all depend on when I can get out of the office, and how I'm feeling at the time. I sure dont look forward to a drive back from Graham, as opposed to a 3 block walk. Smart money would bet on the 3 block walk. But then again, I'm notorious for betting on the long shots. Let's just see where I end up at 7:30. I figure I have till about 6:00 to make that decision.:D

I read or misread that Synder will be playing Graham! I think it has to do with a steak dinner and some kind of UIL rule! Hey! Will I still be able to get the popcorn from Aunt Sally?, Without violating UIL rules? Or does that only apply to players and not fans? lol lol lol:D :D :D
