I thought this was a rebuilding year for Jasper? I think i remember a few jasper ppl saying they'll be lucky to make the playoffs and here they are tearing it up!

the defenses have really stepped it up...especially the rattler D

I'm on nobody's bandwagon. I would have liked to see the D23 sweep just because there'd of been some personal gratification there on my part, but Navasota played one heck of a second half stepping up on both sides of the ball and deserve to be congratulated for beating a very good Jasper team. Funny how everyone from that district was calling for the sweep last week and it was just "becasue we know" and yall got your sweep...and when I mention one...I get attacked from all sides. It didn't happen...so now D23 still has some hope for next week. Navasota has LH and that will be a tough hill to take. Should be interesting.

For those who weren't there, what a game! Navasota can play with anyone when they 'want' to play. They really turned up the heat on the Dogs in the 2nd half. The QB from Jasper, who I believe is a sophomore, is a pretty good athletic. It was almost a one man show by him in the first half. Very impressive! Good luck to Jasper next season. Congrats to the Rattlers on a great come from behind win.

Yeah, I was going nuts down there. Not only that but we filled 4000 to 5000 seats easy and the fans were on their feet the entire second half, even as freakin cold as it was! I thought we were going to get blown away after that first half, but when I saw the team come back out with 5 minutes still left in halftime and Jasper still in the locker room, I knew that they weren't done. HOW ABOUT DEXTER PRATT AT LINEBACKER!!!! He came in on that first Jasper drive in the second half and made three straight tackles! God he is just as impressive on defense as offense! :clap:

Looks like you are on the bandwagon of the teams playing D23. Last week's sweep predictions were made before the games started, you didn't mention sweep until Navasota was down 3 TD's.

Did anyone begin to question Jasper's play calling? I know many fans in the stands didn't quite understand why Jasper was so 1 dimensional in the 1st half, but tried to throw it in the 2nd half...

I know Navasota didn't run blitz at all until the second half. Jasper should have adjusted to that, especially with Pratt in at LB. Bailey forced some throws under pressure, but he will learn and hopefully that kid will grow a little. With a little more size, I can see Bailey getting recruited by many, many colleges. His cutback skills resemble those of Barry Sanders. Good luck to Jasper in your offseason, hope we don't have to see you guys again next year.

Welcome to the club. We have said that at points this year, but Jasper definitely had the best run defense we have faced all year long. The 285 passing yards from Stokes were definitely needed to beat the Bulldogs. Jasper did a better job against a healthy Dexter than anybody else.

They lost their composure. Nothing they were doing was working so they strayed from their gameplan and tried to make things happen. The same thing happened against Needville. Needville started trying to throw against us, and they are a straight running team as well.

They changed what they were doing, which forced Jasper to adapt. Jasper wasn't able to make the changes necessary and Navasota capitalized. 2 onside kick recoveries by Navasota didn't help Jasper either.

Great job of coaching on Navasota's part.

Pratt looked pretty good on defense didn't he? We don't get to see him in that MLB roll very often, but it is fun to watch.:) I was sitting there in the first half of that game wondering when Navasota was going to blitz the linebackers just once, and it never happened. Different story in the second half.
