Did I miss anybody?

These are all the "Done Deals" or "rumored to be" that I have heard will be the next A&M from people that heard it from "a very credible source". Until they have a press conference and say they have signed on the dotted line I'm not going to believe anybody.

I'm not calling anybody who said anything a liar. There is just too many people in the know to make any sense of this mess.

Personally, I would lke either Spurrier or Paul Johnson. Spurrier is a proven winner and Paul Johnson runs the option so he would not have to teach much and will already have the players that were recruited to run that offense.

They better find someone who will throw the rock or they will continue to be a qb graveyard. They finally unleash what was probably one of the top qbs in the nation and look what happens ... they kick a little longhorn booty. But I'm sure they will once again hire a run oriented coach and continue to be mediocre. They have wasted more good QBing talent in the past 20 years than any program in the nation.

I heard Barry Alvarez, also. Been out of coaching for two years but there would be no buy out of an existing contract involved.

They can win today and still not play for a NC title. Personally, I dont think they are NC material. They play in an extremely weak conference.

Another name that just popped up: Ed Orgeron.

Didn't really get a fair shake at Ole Miss. Is easily one of the five best recruiters in the nation (just look at Ole Miss' last three recruiting classes), but never got a chance to get all that talent on the field at the same time.

I'm not advocating him as a HC, but he'd be a great guy to bring in as a DC to recruit against Mack and Stoops.

An HC that's been out of the ranks for a while that the guys at CBS were talking about today: Glen Mason out of Minnesota. Has been out of coaching this year, but apparently Nebraska's high on him. They've already reached out to him and say they think he didn't get a fair cut in Minny. Is great at developing talent (particularly RB's) and would bring toughness back to Lincoln.

Mason's not in the TAMU search, but the fact that Nebraska's considering him says that the coaching picks might not be as thin as everyone thinks.

Kansas hasn't played the world's hardest schedule either.

If Kansas barely beats Missouri, I could see West Virginia move to the #2 or even #1 spot. If Kansas blows Missouri out, Kansas will be #1 and West Virginia will be 2 more than likely

ive seen crazier things happen

True, but in terms of conference strength the Big East is the doormat to the Big 12. And didnt WV lost to an extremely crappy school? I think it would be pretty lame for them to leap frog an undefeated. And if Kansas were to win that would be a win over a top 5 school. What does WV have?

True, but I think everyone can agree that the SEC is stronger than the Big East. Even if you come out of the SEC with 3 losses, I think you are a better team than a 0 loss Big East team.

That's the only good thing about it. The computer doesn't factor in a programs history when doing the rankings like humans do.

I dont understand that, but whatever. I wont be able to swallow them jumping a Kansas team, and I really dont see them ahead of Missouri. We shall see. Crazy year so far, and most likely will get crazier.

If Mizzou wins tonight, and beats OU in the Big 12 championship I think the argument can be made for them to play in the NC title game.

Stranger things have happened. Plus, it is always hard to beat a team twice in the same season.
