Venus beat glen Rose 28-7 and are in the playoffs while Glen Rose sets at home, yet Glen Rose is still #9 in the 3A area polls and Venus is nowhere to be seen. What will it take for Venus to finally be ranked ahead the NON-PLAYOFF Glen Rose? JUST CURIOUS

And, just as importantly, who did Venus lose to most recently? J/W...we were ranked #2 in Central Texas, until we lost to Burnet, that is. Saturday, they dropped us to 4th. Both 2 & 3 have worse records than we do at 9-1, but playing & losing a huge game the last week of regular play did it.

Some day we'll all realize polls mean nothing in HS sports. There is no advantage in being ranked at any point along the way. Its gratification is false. Thank goodness we have a playoff system and rankings decided by players. Venus, if you keep winning, recognition will come. Ask the Bandera folks where they were ranked this time last year...

Please don't anyone think that Liberty Hill is
not a good football team they are!

The polls look at who you have played and how you fared. They look at how much you have scored and allowed and against whom.

Whoever plays Liberty Hill better know how to stop the run. They will run over you, around you and through you. Their ONE shortfall is they don't execute the pass well against a team that
knows how to defense the pass. Those teams not real good against the pass, have another problem on their hands.

Liberty Hill NEVER quits!

I think last year, even after the season and winning the championship, we were ranked 4th in the state. Rankings don't mean anything, and it is good to be the underdog and not ranked at all.

2 weeks ago Kennedale was # 5 in AP (not the greatest pollster) and lost to Glen Rose. they dropped to "And others receiving votes" then this week moved back up to # 10. I think the #5 ranking may have had some effect on the Glen Rose game. I say no rankings matter until December 21 this year.

There is a real good poll that comes out this time every year.

It is called the "Playoff Brackets" and it is one of the best polls at changing every week and moving the good teams to the top.

And in six weeks you will see, that this is by far the best poll in the state.

No one thought for a split second that Bandera would be the State champs....because of where they were ranked. Tells you something about being "ranked" eh?
