Wow...im now officially pissed. They recently added all these new HD chans. and keep talking about how its free and part of the HD package I already pay for. Well, now all of a sudden in order to receive these HD chans I now have to have my dish reprogrammed and the service call is $70. I told them I wouldnt not do that and now all of a sudden the old HD chans I had are now not working. Basically, they are forcing me to make the service call and pay the $70. Thats a bunch of crap.

Think they are bad, try DishNet.
If you lease the equipment from Dishnet and it breaks, they'll send you another and charge you $15 for shipping and handling. Hummmm, its their equipment, it breaks, and you have to pay for them to ship another piece of crap to you?

Don't come on here with 16 post and challenge anything.

What sudden link lacks in programming, they make it up in customer service. If something isn't working you can have someone out next day, and if the dvr breaks they replace it no cost. They only have 9 HD channels, 4 of those are local.

Budman, welcome.

There is only one forum on our site that you talk on... the Football Discussion forum. There are posts about everything on here... not just football.

During the season we "try" to keep it mostly about football. But in reality, its about anything we want to discuss.

Not only that, there is a $9 charge each month for the HD service...

glad I decided to stick with Dish Network...they're slow in getting their HD lineup going but they're "fair" with their service (I do have their $6/month insurance) and if you ask for an "account specialist"...you get very helpful and easy to understand people on the phone.

Hey, Budman! Glad you made it over here.

kaorder, why did you have to have your dish reprogrammed if you were already receiving HD channels? My parents have HD but it was only installed within the last 6 months, and as far as I know they haven't had any problems with it.

Personally, I'm putting off the move to HD until someone makes me do it.

Cable all the way, your best value!:)

But, of course I get everything for free, great fringe benefit. :D

I looked into switching to HD on DTV and I would have had to redo my entire system, add another dish and two more 200'+ buried cables plus new receivers and splitters on my distribution system. I am going to wait for the widely rumored "one wire" system scheduled to be deployed next spring.

my exact question still. I can still receive all the HD channels, ESPNHD, TNTDH, HDNET movies, BUT all of a sudden my Local HD and all the HD channels they have aded are not working. Its just a scheme to force people like me to pay $70 to have someone come adjust crap. Its stupid

Thanks, Sply. It just seems the moderation policies may be somewhat inconsistent since I read an earlier post from a moderator a few days ago that urged everyone to keep their discussions football related til the playoffs are over or their posts will be moved to the suggestions forum. Whatever. lol

More like us being lazy and being busy these last few days with the holidays. We've been a "free for all" board for so long now that I don't know what I was thinking when I suggested splitting the forums.

IF IT AIN'T BROKE - DON'T FIX IT! This year we (board) have done a better job of keeping most of the talk to football since the playoffs started.

All I can tell ya is if the title doesn't appear to be sports related just skip it. :)

or if it relates to UT or ATM, because that is rarely about football, and is more of a pissing match. :D

Only if G$$ posts it though. Otherwise your facts are flawed and untrue. In fact, you are a borderline idiot for not just believing him and moving on. ;)

There is a way around the $70 service charge if you have someone else living with you (spouse/roommate/ etc) and you don't mind the hassle - it is kind of fun to screw 'em like they screw us.

Cancel your service then call them and sign up for new service under another name. They will bend over backward for a new customer - once they have you they won't do jack. It is also a good way to get a hold of any new promotions that they are running for new customers.
