Who takes this area championship game.
I went and watched this game. Kirbyville beat Cleveland 56-14 the first time they played this year. But tonight Cleveland put up a fight and had plenty of opportunities to win but couldn't cash them in. With 3 minutes to go 18-14 Kirbyville. Cleveland had a 4th and goal and couldn't get done, Kirbyville then marched down to make it 24-14.... Good Luck Hornets, bring the STING.....

It'll be a close game. 10 point win by whoever wins this.

:p Maybe... but even their own fans were not happy with the way Kirbyville played... I enjoyed just watching a playoff game.... again, our boys just need to do their job - take care of business and they can move on...

I'm rooting for Kirbyville, but their defense is pretty soft.

Kirbyville's good, but I do believe Caldwell is better. Although it will be a close game.

I think Caldwell will jump out early like they always do, and then just keep it going until the end.

caldwell will take this one, they will play better defense than they did against columbus.

Actually, Kirbyville beat Cleveland 27 or 28 to zero the first game of the year. I did watch both Caldwell and Kirbyville this weekend also. Very impressed with Caldwell's offense. Both teams are good with great backs. I guess I'll go against the grain of this poll and take the Wildcats in a squeaker say 32-29. I'm a little biased, I'm from SE Texas. My team is out of the playoffs so I'll go with Kirbyville. Should be a great game! I saw #20 for Kirbyville got injured and didn't play in the second half. I saw #23 for Caldwell get hurt against Columbus and not come back in. What's the report on these two players for this week's game? They were both walking, but couldn't play.

They play hard from what I saw, it looks like they have a LOT of people that play both ways though.

Yeah, KV plays several both ways. I kept waiting for them to get tired against Jasper. Never happened. They seemed to just get stronger and stronger as the game went on. Now if they get an injury to a two way player, that would be huge.

The Slot T will run anyone into the ground, those boys will be tired by late third quarter..

I'll go with that..... Caldwell 35 Kirbyville 20
I watched them play Cleveland they gave the Indians every chance in the world to win the game, the Indians never could capitalize.... I also noticed Kirbyville did not kick extra points they went for 2 everytime....... Also made bad decisions on several instances..

Yeah, I saw that also. It's hard to beat a team twice especially in the first round of the playoffs. I know one thing, there will be some great RBs on the field this Saturday night! #34 and #23 for Caldwell and #2 and #32 for Kirbyville.

Forecast is 40s and rain for Saturday night I heard.

Hey, how is the Giddings QB? Is he out for the year? Does Caldwell smell a rematch?

KV does have a habit of playing down to their competition, as they just did with Cleveland.

KV wins by one or two over Caldwell. However much they need, they will go and get it. Historically, that is just the kind of team they have been for the past five or so years.

Little Po-dunk town with 2 stoplights and a Dollar General Store. One of the smallest 3A's in Texas. A lot of talk about them dropping to 2A next year. Kirbvyille is about 20 minutes south of Jasper.

Can they stop Kirbyville's offense? It is usually pretty good.

If our offense wears down their defense (which I expect will happen) we will win. Our defense has gotten stronger each week, and knowing that each game gets tougher in the play-offs, it will be about putting the points up and wearing down their two-way players.

GO SWARM!

Won't the rain play havoc with Kirbyville's passing game? It's supposed to get nasty, weatherwise, tomorrow.

Want to wish the Caldwell Hornets the best of luck in this game. Saw them play Columbus...They have a great group of kids that play their tails off...Coaches are first rate...The Cantu kid, he is not only a great back but also a classy player...Saw him up close after the Bi-District game talking w/ the Columbus players...Too many times teams aren't spoke of w/o a biased opinion, this one is coming from the team that was beaten by them. Good luck to the Hornets the rest of the way! Your team and Coaches represent District 23 and all of the 3A football the way it should be represented! Best of luck from District 24-3A.

Rub it in? You were the one starting the sweep talk tonight with 21 vs 23, last I heard you dont have a dog in the fight, You can make fun of our beloved district all you want. Your fun was last week if 23 gets beat it will show how poor your district was.
