I don't know if you got to read the story, but she broke her leg three different times through the race. She broke it the first time long before it snapped in half there at the end of it all.

It hurt me to watch it and then read the story. I bet her mom and dad were absolutely beside themselves between this happening and their other daughter's wedding in the same day.
