I don't know who else was in the running for his talents, but I have always wondered why Lamar Harris of Gilmer committed to them to start with.

Maybe he wanted to play defense. As a WR in a spread offense, why would he have ever been amenable to Coach Fran's 1970s-style 'O'?

Yeah, some have. Frankly, if they make a great hire, they will secure those and may pull some kids from other places. That usually happens when a new hire is made. You lose a couple you had and you gain a couple you didn't have.

If I was a recruit and had orally committed to A&M, I would start letting other schools know that i was looking at other options too!

I think that all depends.

Did you commit there because you liked the school and want to be a part of that university or did you commit to the coach?
