...against the team it is currently facing in Round 1 of the playoffs? According to the Team Histories page, since 1986 Navasota is 1-0 vs. Needville, beating them 28-6 in the Area round of the 1987 playoffs. Interested to see others.

I'm not sure how many times we've met, but the last time we played Mathis was in the third round of the '97 playoffs... cuero won 67-20...

Wow. You rarely see games like that so deep in the playoffs.

Since 1986, Cuero has played Mathis only 1 time, and that was the time you mentioned above.

Interesting connection between our two schools... Navasota and Cuero are 1-1 vs. each other since 1986, with Cuero beating Navasota 8-7 in 1988 (the year Navasota went to the State Championship game vs. Southlake Carroll) and Navasota winning the rematch a year later 52-6.

We have not played Robinson before, so I guess we're 0-0. ;)

(Good topic, BTW! :) )

Thank you.

I looked back on Liberty Hill's history and I found this...

You guys played a JV team in 2004 and destroyed them 75-0. Ended up going to the Semis that year too... wonder why they played the JV? Was that 2004 team not suppose to be that good? Because from the looks of it, they were a pretty good team.

If our record is correct then the game this Thurs. will be Navasota's 900th game played.

Vista Ridge was a brand new school that opened in Leander ISD. The school opened with freshmen only and they weren't assigned to a UIL district until those kids were juniors. Even though they were a team of sophomores in 2004, the coaches wanted them to play a Varsity schedule, since they would immediately be assigned into a 4A district the 2006 alignment.

Oh ok, I knew there was a good reason for it and I knew if anyone would know, you would. ;)

gilmer and liberty eylau have actually been in the same district when i was growing up. they were still both 3A then but that was before 5A. so they were both actually what you would call 4A now. we used to get the crap beat out of us by the likes of mt.pleasant, sulpher springs, paris and so forth. i can't tell you about what went on between us back then............but they kicked our tail last year...............that's all i can remember............and we are looking for some payback!!!!!!!!!

Really?

Wonder why it fell off? We haven't played you guys in around 20 years.

The only really big rival I remember us having was Madisonville... I know we played them for a long long time and we finally quit playing them after a Madisonville victory prompted some Madisonville students to spray paint "MUSTANGS" really big on the front of the school and horse shoes running up Rattler Drive. There were other things but I don't remember... but yeah, it got pretty intense.
