Assuming LSU wins no reason to think it won't be them

Michigan and a very possible UConn loss will help Texas move up some.

If Kansas wins tonight I wonder where they will be sitting tomorrow.

kepdawg

Unless LSU or Oregon lose Kansas should be 3

I don't see why they would jump either if both win

#1 - LSU
#2 - Oregon
#3 - Kansas

That should be it.

Agreed. And who had USF played when they were #2? So why after a 10-0 start can a team not get any love. I like Kansas. They play well as a TEAM, and that makes them fun to watch. That and the fact that no one expected this. After the way this year has played out so far, why not give them a little respect...

OU jumped Kansas because Kansas isn't "sexy" enough for the NC and that in the end is what they are setting OU up for. Best way for Kansas to get in is to win.

Well you asked why they were #2 at one point, and the answer was pretty simple, they beat Auburn and then Auburn went on to beat Florida thus helping they're cause. Then they beat WV when they were a top 5 team, and on top of that they were undefeated. That is why they were #2.

WV was the only quality win they had, and I dont think it was that quality. After Week 1 should App. State been ranked in the top 5? I mean they beat a top 5 team.

Are you serious? They began the season in the top 25, they kept winning, so they kept moving up. Whether you think beating a team that goes on to beat the defending national champs and then beating a top 5 team while remaining undefeated doesnt warrant it doesnt mean it wasn't earned or deserved.

It wasnt, because they werent the SECOND best team in the country. That was proven in the several losses they have suffered since. The fact that WV lost to them and is still in the top 10 baffles me. Especially seeing their record since they were ranked.

So? Noone can predict the future or predict who is going to win every week. At the end of last year, they finished strong and made enough noise to be the preseason #21. They went undefeated took out Auburn who went on to defeat Florida, they they knocked off WV. They beat two very high ranked teams. That is why they were #2, their current record doesn't matter. All that mattered was the record they had when they were #2. Now they certainly aren't deserving of that now, but at the time they were.

read below. I will even make it in all caps so maybe you can understand.

THEY DIDNT DESERVE IT BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT/WERE NOT THE SECOND BEST TEAM IN THE COUNTRY.

This has been proven over and over since they were ranked. The #2 ranking (by my calculation) is for the SECOND best team in the country which USF clearly is/was not.

And once again, it is all logical. I will put the reasons in numeric form.

1. They were undefeated when not many highly ranked unbeatens remained.
2. They beat a team that went on to knock of the #6 ranked(perhaps 7?) national champs.
3. They beat the #5 team in the country.

When you beat highly ranked teams, you move up in polls. It isn't very hard to comprehend. Is USC the #2 team in the country? NO. What about BC or Cal? At the time they all had a very deserving resume. Polls aren't an exact science.

Gobbla2001

I really don't have a problem with the poll itself... they missed a few, got most of it right, BUT I have a problem with the poll decided the national championship game... that is all, goodnight...

You still aren't making any sense. The reason all those teams were #2 was because of the teams they beat and they're preseason positioning. Just because you are #1, #2, #3, etc. in the nation doesnt make you the #1, #2, #3 team in the nation. You said, you didn't understand how USF ever got the #2 spot in the nation because they didn't play anyone. I then explained 2 or 3 times why they got that high and who they played. If you still can't understand why, you might want to consider furthering your education.

bull

Hawaii was ranked in the preseason top 25... South Florida was about 12/13 spots back (around number 35)... neither team really beat anyone tough this year yet South Florida got all of the way to #2? while Hawaii wasn't even top 15 yet...

Mustangpride09

I definately remember seeing USF at #21 in at least 1 preseason poll. And the reason Hawaii hasn't moved up is because the only quality team on that joke of a schedule they have is Boise State and they aren't even that great this year. Not to mention that game against San Jose State.

Its official....you are useless. Just when I thought you grasped logic momentarily, reality set in, and you were rushed back to ignorance. If you are ranked #2 then you are allegedly the SECOND best team in the country....which USF clearly was not. Dont care about Auburn(mediocre)or WV(overrated and will be exposed like USF), because they are not that good. Their is no logical reason for them to have been #2. THEY WERE NOT THE SECOND BEST TEAM IN THE COUNTRY. They arent even #2 in a weak conference. They are fifth.

Out of 8 preseason polls I just obvserved, South Florida was ranked three times, 21, 23 and then 24

out of those same polls Hawaii was ranked ahead of them twice, not ranked in the poll that had SF 21...

Hawaii was ranked in 6 of those polls... 12, 18, 19, 19, 23 and 24...

South Florida was unranked in the top 25 of the Coaches, AP and ESPN polls, which are the ones most go by, while Hawaii was ranked in all of them...

and don't give me the "south florida played better teams" deal... did they really? THIS YEAR? a year where teams are losing left and right to "lesser" teams? THIS YEAR where Mississippi State is bowl eligible, ALREADY? This year where Kansas is undefeated?

don't give me names, because names don't matter (mich losing to 1 double A)... names are just that, NAMES from seasons past...

SF hasn't played anyone either... they lose to Uconn who loses to Cincy etc...
