43-7 middle of the fourth. Game was interesting. Some of the boys were late to the team breakfast this morning and had to sit the first half.
D'anton had two interceptions one of which he returned 80 yards almost scoring
and a punt return that just faked about half of Whitesboro out of their cleats in making a 65 return for a touchdown. Like one guy in the stands next to me said, it wasn't even fair. That being said the boys played flat and Whitesboro was pumped.
Coach ford kept it plain and simple. Playoff time is a coming. Had another bad call on kickoff interference. We kick that short pooch guy on the line waves fair catch and it goes over his head. He never makes a play on the ball and Troy catches it mid air with no one around him. Ref throws flag and calls it interference. Somebody needs to educate them poor boys on that.

So I'm taking it that Celina had 43 and Whitesboro had 7?

Actually it was 44 - 7 forgot the extra point.

Celina is the undefeated 9-3a champ.

Did Whitesboro make the playoffs this year?

No. They had put themselves in the position of having to beat us at home. Pilot Point has the tie breaker over them if Prosper should lose to Bonham and last I heard Prosper was tied with Bonham 28 28. Pilot Point or Prosper will be the third place team.

They are done no matter what else happens - they had to win tonight. It is a shame too cause they are not a bad football team.

Pilot Point lost to Frisco Wakeland 31 to 20. The last I heard Prosper was ahead of Bonham 34 to 28. If Prosper holds on, they are the D2 runner-up as they win the point tie breaker between Prosper, Pilot Point and Whitesboro. However, Bonham almost was the spoiler for Prosper.

If they lose the Pilot Point gets the nod....
I did not think that Bonham could beat Prosper. Or I should say I thought Prosper was better than that.

I thought Whitesboro was a really nice team.

Their QB was pretty good, their RB was tough, and they had some fiesty defensive lineman.

Its too bad they did not make the play-offs.

Prosper won 42-28. 3A-9 is set - DI Wakeland, DIIC Celina, DIIR Prosper.

One thing is for sure. There was no quit in Whitesboro. I think they were maybe 2nd best or at least 3rd best in our district.
