Sounds like the offense on each side needs some work. Defense is working pretty well for zapata right now and seem to be breaking through the Sinton line just enough and at crucial times.

Halftime, we didn't give up a safety. Sinton needs to spread 'em out and open it up sounds like.

Maybe Sinton can get a big play from the special teams in the second-half. I don't know much about Zapata, but I surely didn't know they had the kind of defense to hold the Pirates scoreless in the first half. We'll see what the Pirate coaching staff can come up with.

p4s says Zapata is making some good plays, but mostly Sinton's killing themselves with stupid penalties. Probably a VERY serious talk happening about now.

BTW, I did faintly catch 93.5 and 100.5 FM faintly. Both were Spanish and didn't carry the game. Only 93.5 was in Zapata(hard to get it though, cuz it was sandwiched between two stronger local stations.) They should have had the game on :D , especially since this was the first time the Hawks have played past the bi-district level.

They really helped get the crowd going in the 2nd half. I couldn't hear myself think, much less hear you!! hee-hee I was crouching down half the time just so that I could speak into the mike & believe it or not I was not that close to it. eek! It was just SO LOUD, what w/ the crowd, the announcer & the band---jeez it is any wonder I got any updates to you at all. I was ready to chunk it all b/c besides you I had 3 other people tryin' to get updates!!! eek! It was a great game. And Mitchell & one other coach were the only coaches "talking" to the team at half-time. Whatever was said, it sure worked. It was a different team out on the field the 2nd half. Boys, GREAT game, enjoy it, then get ready for practice & try not to eat too much turkey. :D

I got in from a long drive from Laredo last night at about 2:15 in the morning and was too tired to post. It was a great game. I don't think Sinton went for it deep in their territory on fourth down. I remember when they were at the Zapata 33 yard line that they went for it and again I think they were at the Zapata 20. Anyway a great win for the Pirates who came back the second half a completely different team. Oh and by the way that Laredo stadium was outstanding and facilities and services were excellent.
