What do you think of the Heisman Award?

In my opinion, the Heisman Trophy is the most pointless college football award. In this day of position specialization, it doesn't mean anything anymore. The other position awards are more meaningful. I think the only meaningful awards are these:

Bronko Nagurski Award
Butkus Award
Chuck Bednarik Award
Davey O'Brien Award
Doak Walker Award
Fred Biletnikoff Award
Jim Thorpe Award
John Mackey Award
Lou Groza Award
Outland Trophy
Ray Guy Award
Rimington Award
Ted Hendricks Award
Vince Lombardi/Rotary Award

It's morphed into the best player on the best team. That's OK as a fallback when there's not a clear-cut best player, but this year, like most years, there is definitely a top tier and then everyone else. Unfortunately, most of the top tier aren't noticeable players.

I agree with u. Although it may be a prestigious award, it never seems to be the best player in my book. Oh well, my opinion doesnt matter....

Up until the turn of the century it wasn't but now it is more of a joke to the tune that is it basically an offensive award now.
