Texas High School Football Geography Quiz [Archive]

Okay... the 5A folk are NOT doing particularly well on this one, which is to be expected. Let's see if anyone a bit more acquainted with the smaller towns of Texas can do better. The following map shows the 36 Texas high school programs that have won 3 or more UIL 11-man football state titles (1A thru 5A) since they started awarding them back in 1920. Combined, these 36 schools have won 155 state titles which is 44% of the all-time total ever awarded.

They are labelled differently according to how many championships they won:

Dark Blue = 7 titles each
Red = 6 titles each
Green = 5 titles each
Light Blue = 4 titles each
Yellow = 3 titles each

How many can you name without cheating and looking at (1) a map or (2) a list of past state champions?

13 is LaMarque...
36 is Sealy...
I believe that 23 is NEwton
2 or 3 is SOuthlake
and I would go that 15 is Stephenville

is that a good start and the last 3 I am not so sure about... but fairly positive... some I ahve an inkling but would have to cheat...
like exactly which one is Permian,Lee, Judson, maybe Dallas Carter, and Houston Yates... and I know that 1, 2 or 3 is Celina as well I just am not exactly sure where Celina is

this map seems clearer or maybe I see it better on this computer but definitely I knew that Sealy was 19 and not 36 so then 3 is SOuthlake Carroll...
28 must be Westlake
12 is Katy
31 is Dallas Carter

so it's not Longview or Marshall??? Or just not Marshall??? If it's not Longview then I don't know. You have Gladewater, Big Sandy, and others in that area. Gilmer hasn't won that many and they're further north. It's not Lindale. I'm guessing that 24 is Lubbock High then.
