When my spousal unit was at SHSU in the early '70s, she called me up at TAMU on a Wednesday night and said some dude named Elton something or other (same first name as my late great Dad) was playing a free concert in the basketball arena followed by the 5th Dimension. Asked me if I wanted to drive over to H'ville for the concert. I told he I had to study for a concrete structures design test, but for her to go see if the guy was any good. She called back about midmight and said the concert was great and this guy was really cool. She kept waiting for him to com eback, but he never did. ...and the rest is history...
