Why isn't this the Region III game of the week?

Can't you guys see the hype that will form around this game?

Just kidding! Actually smithville may be w/o a win in district thus far, but they have played harder and closer than they have in a while. Not saying I think they have a chance this week, but they will no be a push over atleast not in the first half or so.

They never give up that's for sure. I feel sorry for that program but it says alot about the kids there.

True. I think these kids from Smithville play their hearts out, but just don't have the talent to legitimately compete in this district. If they were in most other districts they could be a heavy contender. They really are a good bunch of kids though.

They definitely play hard. They may be in contention for a playoff spot in any other district, but this is a tough one. The fact that their final district game is against Giddings won't make it any easier on them either.

They have made some improvements, but still a good ways from competing with the top team in the state.

Smithville has been hanging with teams in district this year, and they play hard every game. Sucks for them that they have to end their season against a highly ranked team. But look for Smithville to only get better and better in the upcoming years. As you all said, the kids deserve it.

Coach Wiley at Smithville is an old Ballinger Boy...hope he can continue to coach them up and someday make the playoffs. He was a great offensive lineman for the Bearcats and many of his uncles and cousins were great players for Ballinger.

smithville definitely doesn't SUCK,

they may not have the talent to compete in this current district, but they have the want to, the heart, they go out and play hard EVERY week, and never give up

this is respectable and admirable..

heck, they would defitely make the playoffs in a district like D22

buff4life, I am proud of your integrity in this discussion. Seems our conflict brought your attention to the hurt cheap shots, intentional or otherwise, can cause, so it wasn't a waste. Y'all go easy on Smithville, they have had a tough year. Your team needs to prepare for post-district play; best of luck.

I guess I was just trying to keep references current. It can't be fun to always have a tough year--hope it improves soon!

Giddings can win this by as much as they want, but its not right to come out and say they suck. They play hard, and are improving. If im right, they were beating navasota at half, and I know from watching navasota play that they are a really good team. So smithville does not necessarily suck, its not right to just say that.
