District 28 championship game will be decided in Hondo as the Warhorses and Owls battle to claim the district title.
Warhorses have had two weeks to prepare for this game and have been outstanding in district play by outscoring opponents 110-2. Warhorses use a stable of Rbs, Stephen Carrillo (979 yds,6.71 per carry, 15 tds), Rodney Guzman (473 yds, 6.86 per carry, 2 tds), Matthew Lopez (259 yds, 6.64 per carry, 4 tds), Jose Del Rio (216 yds, 9.82 per carry, 4 tds) and Colton Stacy (213 yds, 3.67 per carry, 3 tds). Warhorses come in averaging 291 yds on the ground. Qb Colton Stacy has passed for 550 yds and 8 tds this year. Wr Nick West has 23 catches for 368 yards and 7 tds.
Owls have adjusted without their star running back Jose Robles and came out last week and crushed Carrizo Springs 51-7 with QB Derick Trevino passing for 190 yds and 3 Tds to bring his totals to 999 yards passing and 14 tds while completing 59% of his passes this year(Trevino also has 5 rushing tds). Wr Michael Rogiers is key receiver with 14 catches for 275 yards and 3 tds. Taking over the Rb duties are Ruben Cepeda (193 yds ,6.78 per carry,1 td), Zach Bohmfalk (44 yards, 22 0 per carry,1 td), Ethan Conde (84 yards, 7 yards per carry,0 tds). Owls come in averaging 409 yards of offense this year. Last week Owls kept that pace with 431 yds last week in offense.
My pick is the game is in Hondo so it will be a big advantage for the Owls against Devine. Hondo wins 34-22.
Discuss who wins and why.
