None yet.

I asked the coach after the game last night, and her comment was "I need to look at a map!" .

I'll post as soon as I hear for sure. I am expecting next Tuesday night, though.......

Quetion for those of you that know about state wide VB teams.

Is Monahans a juggernaut? Apparently most think Sweetwater
doesn't have a chance in Haiti against them in the next round.

3ABirdMan

PURE speculation........

By the scores I saw, Bellville did NOT totally dominate Hamshire-Fannett (25-21, 28-26, 25-22).

BC beat HF both times during District play, both nights were 3-0 for BC (1st time 26-24, 25-17, 25-15) (2nd time 25-22, 25-23, 25-15) .

I think BC might have a slight advantage going in, judging on the history. A lot of it will have to do with the matchups for each rotation.

I know a lot has changed since in the last 4 - 5 weeks, but you asked for an opinion

I'm not sayin they don't have a chance, but they better bring their best game, if you look at their schedule (Loboes) they play and beat alot of 5a teams. In the last 5 years they missed the State quarters once, Won state and been 2nd twice. At the beggining of the year I think they were rated in the top 5 of the coaches poll, and the last poll I saw they were still in the top 10.

Having not seen Caldwell, Columbus, or Tarkington play ......

I was very surprised to see Tarkington lost. In this area, they were supposedly "THE" 3A team to beat!

Caldwell vs Columbus should be a heck of a game!

Thanks for the speculation... Bellville has struggled early on, losing in 3 to Caldwell in the first round of district but since have gone undefeated, including winning two matches over Caldwell for the first round bye.

Should be a good match between two quality teams in Region III.

Yes it should. And since Bellville will be playing Bridge City and the site will probably be too far for me to go since my son will have football practice until 6 I will probably have to go watch my alma mater (Columbus) play and, of course, I will have to root for the red, white and black especially since I have relatives playing on that team.

Van over Gilmer? Maybe ...
I think Gilmer was expected to win, but Van has been strong all season. I saw both teams early on, and Gilmer was stronger then. But in a region with White Oak, Bullard, and others, the competition is tight and the level of play is pretty even across the board. I think it becomes who executes consistently, or even simply has the better gameday. All these teams excel.

LE lost in 5 to a well-disciplined Athens squad. Very disappointing for all of us. All were extremely close, except the 3rd when LE really pulled away: 23-25, 25-21, 13-25, 27-25, 15-11. LE loses only one senior and should compete well next year, probably starting 4 seniors and a junior in 2008. The team is almost all juniors this year. Congrats to Athens and good luck to everyone still in it.
