Reg. III IS better than Reg. I

Take a look at state champs over the years...especially recently...Reg. III in the mix every year...Reg I...not so much other than AW's title a few years ago.

No Bboro and Canton have been good and Atlanta too on occasion. Between Gilmer and Celina with the second tier we are pretty good in region 2.

I don't understand what "IN THE MIX EVERY YEAR MEANS".

All four Regions are in the mix every year, it's called the semi finals. And in case you missed it on the other thread. Here is the breakdown of state champions since 1992.

Reg 1 - 4

Reg 2 - 10

Reg 3 - 5 (*but in the mix every year:thumbsup: )

Reg 4 - 5

I think region two is the only region that has any right to brag. They had both the Div1 and Div 2 champs in the same year three times.

Maybe not as far as who the champs were, but as a matter of who has more appereances to settle this "who is the superior region" it does. :D

OK, here is the total breakdown of Who maid the most appearance in the state champion game since l996.

Reg 1 - 5 appearances - 2 titles, 3 losses

Reg 2 - 15 appearances - 10 titles, 5 losses

Reg 3 - 7 appearances - 3 titles, 4 losses

Reg 4 - 13 appearances - 5 titles, 8 losses

Bottom line: Region 2 and Region 4 have clearly made the most appearances, with region 2 winning the most titles.

Truth be known region 4 always seems to be unbalanced with two or three really good teams and then a whole bunch of average and below average teams, with the good teams being top 10 quality. Reg 1 and Reg 3 are usually very similiar in that they have a lot of good teams that are top 25 quality with a few top 10 quality teams which makes for a good arguement as you well know. What makes Reg 2 so successful in December is the teams in reg 2 have a lot of overall team speed, not that other regions don't, reg 2 teams seems to have more.

For argument sake region 2 is hands down the toughest region over the past 10 season and have a 67% winning percentage in the finals. The other three regions have about the same success rate in finals.

I hope this satifies everyone, and we can lay this thread to rest for a while.

I think we've always known region 2 was hands down the most successful, doesn't mean they are in the toughest region. I really think here recently region 3 has been the toughest, but that is just MY opinion. What gets alot of you into whizzing matches is thinking you have to change someone's opinion or beat them to death with your own!
