I would like to see LH, a Waco team other than Midway, and Cuero...and Cameron if we're not in the same district...

I really enjoyed watching Wylie play Wimberely and Frenship but someone closer to home would be nice. Those trips aren't much fun. Three hour trips or more aren't near as bad if you are driving on the interstate, but being located in Abilene we won't have much choice whether were 3A or 4A.

I have a feeling we are going to be down for the next few years...regardless, I always liked playing Sweetwater and would like to get Monahans back on the schedule too!

Are you anticipating Ingleside not being in the same dist. with Sinton & AP?

It will always be Cuero, Gonzales & Yoakum. Then they add a two or three other schools. It usually changes.

I would like to see Graham schedule Breck, again. They are just 30 minutes away and it was always a good rivalry until the fans got out of hand.

And since there's a good likelihood we will move up in the next 4-6 years, I'd like to see us start scheduling more 4A teams in the area. Maybe Pflugerville Connally (even at the risk of the r2d2 battle), Lake Travis (ouch)......

Where can we go to look at the district realignments?

Present ones are on the home page, under each region. The "new" ones will not be announced until February.

?

That's just the district I'd like to see us in. There were a few things that I was thinking when I made that list:

1.) Travel time. Didn't want any school more than an hour and a half away.

2.) I wanted one "great" team (Cuero), a couple of consistently "good" teams (Gonzales, Sinton... even though Sinton's down this year), and be able to keep our biggest rival (AP). Goliad just kinda falls in between everything and would be the "link" between the Coastal Bend and the Crossroads areas.

3.) I only considered the football teams. I didn't even think of baseball and basketball when I was making the list.

If there was a way Refugio could move up and we could keep them and West Oso (they tend to have tons of talent, but the football team only gets it in cycles) in our district, that'd be fun. I want it to be just competitive enough to keep us guessing but not so competitve that it's near-impossible to get into the playoffs. Might have to let go of Gonzales but keep Cuero if we could pull those two schools back into the fold.

30-3A had that problem with a logjam of good teams back at the turn of the century, back when perennial playoff powers (at the time) AP, Mathis, Sinton, George West, and West Oso combined with Ingleside, Taft, and one other school (was it OG?) to make that huge, tough district.

For Graham....Celina, Decatur, or a Wichita Falls 4A would be cool. Also Frenship would be nice so that they would have 1 game closer to me.
