Vernon has an impressive streak from the recent pass of 13 consecutive district titles and 15 straight year in the playoffs that ended sometime after 2000.

Actually, it was 16 years.... it would be the longest streak in 3A, except that Vernon was 4A for the first 5 years of the streak.... so Commerce officially has the longest streak of making the 3A playoffs at 15 in a row. Pilot Point is 3A now, but they were 1A and 2A when they went 22 years in a row.

The Sweetwater Mustangs have only missed the playoffs 3 times since 1984

that is 20 playoff apperances since 1984
If the Mustangs reach the playoffs this season it would be 8 years in a row (AGAIN) 2000- 2007

Longest streak of playoff apperances for the Mustangs was 8 from 1990 - 1997

as far as playoff runs go
Sweetwater has been to the State Finals twice
1957 lost to Neaderland
1985 beat Tomball

State Semi Final games
57-84-85-87-91-97-05
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
on the rival side of that
the Snyder teams have reached the playoffs 13 times since 1974

longest streak of playoff apperances for Snyder is 6 in a row from 2002- 2007

as far as depth
for the Snyder teams
once in the Semi Finals 04

That was the worst team since 1998. I thought I said in the last ten years more specifically. And it would be accurate. I would stretch it to the 96 team. The 97 team got beat by Italy who lost in the state semi-'s.

All I sense out of you is a bunch of Title envy. Since 88, one title, one quarters, one area loss, and a few bi-district losses for a total of 8 playoff appearances. Credit for the title in 04.
Good team in 03 lost in the quarters to Atlanta.
I don't need to tell you how we stack up to that you already know and don't like it.

I think we have a good chance of making 18 consecutive years for the next couple of years look good with what we have coming assuming the football gods don't get angry.

well, billy is right

2003 was the weakest team for celina since 1997

it's fairly obvious

just look at their results from 2002 for comparison (they were much better their first and third years in 3A than their second)

;)

what an overdone conversation--but i couldn't help it

Katy is in one of the few 6-team districts in 5A and haven't lost a district game this year. With 4 teams qualifying they may actually have already clinched a spot this year.

I guess since ours was a 8 year streak last year and we made the playoffs...we are going on a 9 year streak this go around.

That is the main reason I wanna at least make the playoffs!!:D

Actually... the above post is quite old and only includes through the 2006 playoffs so you would be going for a 10 year streak this year (1999-2008)

I do believe we're at 10 straight years. INCLUDING 1998, that is 10 years. Not that it's a big deal, just pointing that out.

Like I just said... the original post on the thread was posted 10/29/07 BEFORE playoff qualifiers had been determined in 2007 so the stats only include appearances through 2006.

You know....I had 9 and 10 in there and after I posted it, thought to myself, "That isn't right"...so I went back and changed it to 8 and 9.

I was right the first time....that's what I get for second guessing myself!!

I KNEW it was from last year!!:p
