Giddings 7 Caldwell 7 end of 1st.

Both teams punting for their first 2 possessions. Caldwell drives and scores. Giddings does, but gets it called back. Giddings scores again - this time it's good. Beginning of 2nd...

a close game like this will probably decided by the kicking game

I think Gidding is pretty good to.

If it comes down to a field goal.

I think Giddings kicker is the better.

how good is the buffs' defense?

is it enough to stop LH this year?

although i guess whether or not they can stop caldwell is a more pressing concern......

:p

When it come to LH and Giddings, I don't think it is as much a question of who can stop who.

It's just a matter of who can score the most.

Back to the game at hand.

Starting to wonder if Caldwell is going to be able to stop Giddings in the second half.

WOW!!!

Giddings stops on 4th and Goal and a face mask call gives them a 1st and goal and then Caldwell fumbles it the next play.

Caldwell blocks the punt then trys a halfback pass broken up by Dock.

Well...

It didn't come down to a kicker.

To much Brock in the second half.

Final 21-7

About that other 10 players comment 44inarow.

Oh no if it wasn't for the team of course.

I just listened to it on the internet and the commentators just make it sound like Brock did it all.

But of course we know better.

Very true - keep in mind that Brock doesn't play defense and for this Giddings team to have held this amazing Hornet offense to a single TD is an accomplishment worth highlighting. Go Defense!!!:D

#8 did real well and so did Alan Dock who scored one of the touchdowns. Brock had to tough most of his yards out. Caldwell's defense is very impressive and fast. Giddings defense stepped up HUGE.

it was only a five yard facemask, no first down, just a replay and the defense stopped them again..

questionable play calling there, why not a QB sneak?

I agree with you go blue, the giddings defense really stepped up to a huge test that was made out to be the test of the year it seems. We know better, there will be HUGE test ahead of us like west orange stark, waco la vega, possibly caldwell again; and that would only get us to the semis if we can fight through a tough road like that.

We are very proud of our boys, they played very well.

Both teams played with great sportsmanship and with one hell of an effort. The caldwell fans brought the whole town and made some noise as was expected, they didn't dissappoint like wimberly last year. Keep playing and get after navasota, but be carefull; their score tonite would tell you that they looked past smithville to you. Navasota will be ready to play, and I expect that to be a pretty big topic for the next week. IT WILL BE A GREAT GAME.

GO BUFFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS. Bellville wow, what happened.

Navasota was losing the entire game. Going down by as many as 12 points early on. I think that the Rattlers overlooked a hard working Smithville team. Good luck to Smithville the rest of the year.

Navasota 49, Smithville 27 Final. Pratt, unofficially had 370 yards rushing.

Congrats to Giddings on a huge win..;)

The Rattlers scored 34 unanswered points in the second half. Defense just looked sloppy for the first 28 minutes, then looked fired up and unbreakable. Congrats to Giddings, they are really showing that they deserve their ranking. Their defense was never talked about until their last two games, and they are poised to make a long run at state. I still don't think I have seen a single "my team got beat by one guy" signature up yet!

What happened to Dock's hand/thumb? Looked pretty bad from where I was sitting but the kid is a competitor and went back in and continued to dominate.

i think docks thumb just had a bad cut on it.....but others say it was broken/dislocated.....shouldn't be anything major
