i have seen neither team play so i don't have a great insight..

Rockdale seems to be on a roll coming into the "Battle for the Bell" and i'll take them by 10 IF they play at Rockdale...

if the games in Cameron, Cameron will win but i don't know by how much.......by varying factors

Were a week early for this poll, but I guess because Yoe is off this week thier ready to start it up.

LBU you say the Tigers would have lost to Hutto if they were healthy. Trust me the Tigers are not healthy either, 2 offensive lineman were out & 1 starter on def. was out and another went down on the opening kickoff.

Face it Hutto is having a down year.

Rockdale should win fri. and next week with Yoe is gonna be a good one.

Of course i'm going with the Tigers over Yoe 37-20

I'm pretty sure that Hutto was more beaten up than Rockdale by injuries seeing as how original starting RBs, WR's....KEY SKILL POSITIONS kinda play a difference in a ball game so that would lead to the down year

How do you figure 3rd? Both teams have already beaten Hutto, and Cameron already beat Taylor. Unless some miracle happens and Liberty Hill gets upset they're #1. Pretty sure Cameron and Rockdale will be playing for #2 & 3 spots

I would say missing key OFFENSIVE skill positions...you know, the ones that score most of the touchdowns....would hurt more...safeties wouldn't have as much as an effect if you're playing somebody like liberty hill, giddings, or hutto...teams who run the ball

all i'm saying is that from what i've heard, hutto lost their #1 and #2 rb's, #1 fb, and #1 wr....that has to put a serious dent in offensive production

Banged up or not, you play with what you have. You can make all the excuses in the world about losing, but it is always more than just one thing. Rockdale played well and are starting to gel. Hutto is down too. Rockdale has played a rough schedule and are young. They will continue to get better. Good luck Tigers.

yeah, seeing as how liberty hill, cameron, and rockdale are pretty much locked in for the playoffs....these next two weeks will just be for positioning and the district championship....liberty hill will be going big school and this week is the fight for the seeding in d2....go yoe!

it would be a giddings fan to post something like this....the most likely reason that a yoe fan posted a week early is because we had an off week last week therefore we look to our next opponent which naturally a schedule would say is rockdale

Nastysota? That's original. People from Cameron were saying that 601 victories ago. Don't try to get on us because we have pride in our team. The past 3 game of the week all should have been from District 23-3A: Giddings @ Navasota, Caldwell @ Giddings, and now Caldwell @ Navasota. All three of those teams should have been featured twice, a piece. We're not trying to include Navasota in everything, if we did, we would have called Navasota @ Smithville the GOTW last week. And about the playoffs, of course expect them to go deep in the playoffs every year. If you don't, your not a true fan. Everyone should want and expect their team to go at least 2-4 rounds deep every year. Anything less than that is just mediocre. Mediocre is below excellence, and we don't want anything less than that here in Navasota. Maybe thats ok with you in Cameron, but not here.

in 24 hours time....Rockdale will once again be wondering, "what were we thinking? What gave us the right to even think that we MIGHT beat Cameron?"

You see kids, the difference between Cameron and Rockdale is real simple. Year in and year out, Cameron goes into this game EXPECTING to win (kind of like....Giddings last week) whereas Rockdale goes in HOPING that they win.

The last time Cameron lost to Rockdale is when we had that wretched 1-9 season and EVEN THEN.....the loss was what? 2? 3 points? Will this game be good? Sure will. But the Yoemen have far too many offensive weapons to contend with. Rockdale will have to outgun them if they hope to win. I don't think they have it the staff to do it.

Of course you have the Rockdale "never weres" in there as well. It's not a matter of trash talking, it's fact. Face the fact that there were CLASSES from Rockdale who never even saw that bell. They started as freshmen and when they graduated, they never once knew what it was like to win this game, roll through town afterwards ringing that thing into the early hours of the next morning. It's a feeling that can't be described. You look at that game between Baylor & Texas a few weeks back where Texas hadn't lost to Baylor in 10+ years. Did anyone really think Baylor was going to win that game? Sure it went back and forth a bit but in the end, all was as it should be.

LBJ was a season opener that we lost by two scores. since then LBJ has put up 50 points week in and week out. FB....lost by 3 points. same type of record as LBJ. but yes, I definitely see the point you are trying to prove....

Cameron has yet to fall to a 3a school this year. Rockdale has accomplished that 6 times already.

egg on your face homie. Cameron beat Lexington by 3 td if I remember right. As for Manor, they're a powerful team this year. look it up. the game with them and LBJ was for the district title.

that is crazy...i was there. And I wasnt impressed with either team to be honest with you. They both played sloppy.

alright...first Lexington isn't state ranked and are nowhere near the power they have been in years past, don't brag about beating a 2A school, second Manor and LBJ both belong to the Austin school district which has pretty much perennially been known to SUCK...don't brag..

BUT besides that point, past records don't matter..its how the teams play on the field and what the final score is that matter for bragging rights..

This years lexington team isn't the one from the past two to three years.

It was Arlington Grace Prep and not Austin. Also private schools don't traslate to UIL rules very easily. Look at Strake Jesuit for an example.

LBJ plays in a horrible Austin ISD district.

sure thing Big Blue Backup, as a freshman I watched our varsity team hold on to the bell AGAIN. as a sophomore, we lost it to you guys fair and square. AS A PLAYER my Jr. and Sr year, we beat you boys for the bell as normal. I'm sorry if I wasn't able to make it to UT or any other D1 schools but unless your name is Billy Pittman, it's been a while since any Yoe player has. But luckily I did manage to go to school, get a degree, married, kids, the whole 9 so I think I'm doin alright! But thanks for asking!

I was a member of the team that won the bell my sophomore year, but we lost it and never got it back. Does it bother me today? No, because I've moved on, and the only team that I'm worried about beating is OU this week, then Missouri next week, and Texas the week after that. Cameron is a trivial team in my eyes, but I do want my former teammates and current friends to do well and succeed, so in that light, Go Tigers.

dude, it's a board. I'm a FAN. it's what we do. I didn't attack your team by supporting mine. Next week, I'll be worried about Cameron keeping it close with LH. Relax. You see kids, the difference between Cameron and Rockdale is real simple. Year in and year out, Cameron goes into this game EXPECTING to win (kind of like....Giddings last week) whereas Rockdale goes in HOPING that they win.

The last time Cameron lost to Rockdale is when we had that wretched 1-9 season and EVEN THEN.....the loss was what? 2? 3 points? Will this game be good? Sure will. But the Yoemen have far too many offensive weapons to contend with. Rockdale will have to outgun them if they hope to win. I don't think they have it the staff to do it.

The tigers played with class last night except for a couple of retaliation fouls. The Tigers didn't have anyone on the team "beating on their chest" or "pointing out how good they think they are". They just took care of business and for the looks of the underclassman that will return and what the Tigers did to the yoe in underclassman games it may be several years that the bell stays south of the River. The seniors will be missed greatly but they are setting a new standard of expectations that will be here in future years.

Great job Tigers and keep improving each week......
