Giddings looked pretty lackluster on offense. Combination of two factors - inexperience in the Giddings O line and a good Bellville defense. (Although which one was the bigger factor was hard to tell at times...) Nevertheless, there were a lot of red jerseys in the Giddngs backfield.
Giddings D looked pretty good, particularly early on. Final "score" was 2-1 Bellville.
If the new offense at Giddings is going to work, they will need to plug some holes up front. Tuff for a QB to throw when he is on his back!
There is no doubt that Bellville is going to be a contender this year and could go deep into the playoffs. Giddings can certainly use the next two weeks (1st game on Sept. 6 vs. Rockdale) to get healthy and work on their passing game.
I know that there are some Bellville posters out there. Curious to read their take on the scrimmage.
