I've been seeing clips about this all week on the SA TV stations - this is the school that was flooded earlier right? I wonder where have those kids been going to school since school started?
DUH I just saw there is a link.. I bet if I read the link I'll find my answer

Yes 44inarow, this was the school that was flooded earlier this year.

I remember when I was in junior high my high school, Lampasas, played them in the 3A playoffs in basketball about 14 or 15 years ago. Hadn't really heard a thing about them again until this. Sucks to hear the school will close.

Isn't this Shaquille Oneal's Alma Mater?

I thought he went to Cole High School in SA - but I could be totally wrong on that

You are correct in that it is San Antonio Robert G. Coles High School on Fort Sam Houston

Since there was only 4 teams in that dist. that means the other 3 are in the playoffs. Great job UIL. Hopefully they will go with all 6 team dists. in 3a next year.

My understanding is they will finish the school year in athletics as West Campus. They have been attending South San HS all year.

They will finish out the school year as West Campus. It just seemd kind of odd that on Friday we play a school that will not exist next year.

I watched him vs. West Oso in the regional playoffs one year in Kingsville.

West Campus students have been attending school at South San. But they are not sharing classes. They have their teachers from West Campus and they will finish out the year that way.

The solution is to have a minimum of 6 teams in any dist. in 3a. Uil has control over this and can make it happen.

that easy to say, but nearly impossible to do and keep any kind of workable ADM ratio, which 3A has the largest (and most problematic) of all the classes.

the ratio is far more important than having every district with the same # of schools

I agree that it would be very difficult to do but what is sad about the present set-up is that Dist. 24 has 8 teams and 7 of those teams could probably make the playoffs in some of the region4 dists. that have 4 or 5 teams. 174 teams in 3a now and 4 team dists. does not seem right to me. 3A fan i really respect your thoughts on this and you probably know more about this subject than i do but i hope that the Uil can come up with a solution to the 3a allignment problem that is fair as can be to all the 3a schools.
