Shocker as far as the score goes. Thought this could go either way but would at least be a close game.

shocker? You dont know Vernon and must have believed the Clyde game was a normal game for Vernon. Vernon is a better team than Burk in all facets. NOt shocked at all.

Vernon played a solid first half. Burk stepped it up in the second. I'll bet that Burk has a lot more yards than Vernon. The Lions played excellent defense tonight (bend don't break). Made Burk work the entire length of the field and it was tough to do. The Bulldogs had some success running the ball but a penalty or sack or tackle for a loss would put them too far out for a first down. The Lions defense really lays the wood out there. They are tough.

Vernon mixed it up very well in the first half (pass and run). Had a few bad breaks and a well adjusted Burk defense to contend with in the second half. Overall a good performance out of the Lions.

I'll be glad to take this win. One week at a time, but I'm imagining a rematch with Clyde in the playoffs. I'm hoping for one anyway!
