Comanche had a sign on their side of the field that read....

Save an Indian...ride a mustang!!!!

What the heck does that mean?

not sure what that means ... but in related news

when Forney played Southlake Carroll in the 3A Region II final at Texas Stadium in 91 (or 92?), SLC had a sign that said:

FORNEY, HOW CORNY

SLC won 20-7 with currect Texans kicker Kris Brown at QB

that was an intersting game for Emerson, maybe he can be coaxed into telling THAT story

It sounds to me like a "play" on the song "Save a horse, Ride a cowboy".

Bellville had a run-thru sign they used at halftime of this years Bellville-Sealy game that read: "Take Out the Trash" which I thought was tasteless. It is a big rivalry but I thought it stepped over the line.
Fortunately, it started pouring as soon as they stood it up and tore soon after, but we did see it.

During my senior year of HS in the playoffs, Forney met Atlanta at Texas Stadium. The cheerleaders had a cheer that they did every game that went like this:

How does it feel to be a Rabbit, Rabbit?
How does it feel to be up so high?
How does it feel to be a (Insert opponent's mascot here twice)?
We don't know we don't stoop that low.

They said a couple of times that they were going to do that cheer and I kept telling them not to. Eventually, around the middle of the second quarter they did it anyway, and they couldn't figure out why the heck I was waving at them and yelling for them to stop it. It went just like this:

How does it feel to be a Rabbit, Rabbit?
How does it feel to be up so high?
How does it feel to be a Ra...bit....(voices trail off in disgust)...

Or the other one -- "Allen to Dock"

Their Quarterback's last name was Allen. Maybe they wanted Allen to throw one to Dock???

Still scratching my head on that one!

"mike vick the bullodgs"- for sweeny
"slaughter the spartans"- stafford

I always like the headline when ACC played ET

Lions eat Christians if ET won
Christians beat Lions if ACC won

who reads the signs anyway
Im watching the game

who cares
watch the game
learn more football
write it down
help yourself be a better fan
be a student of the game

you wil be surprised how much it will help you

i have found just the opposite ... when i try to see what the defense is doing, how the line is blocking, etc., it takes away from the game for me

they had a player named Ryan Dockery...so they called him Dock...yet they were still implying to Alan Dock..i think the cheerleaders there have something for him...

Or focus in on one individual player or match-up?

Next thing I know I'm looking all over the field trying to figure out
where the ball went.

My favorite is when the Bridgeport Bulls played the Graham Steers and Bridgeport's sign read "We have something that you don't"

I don't know if anyone is aware of it but a few years ago the Hearne Walmart was closed down due to the theft rate. The High School is now located in the old Wal-Mart building so when we played them we put the Walmart Smiley face on the run through and wrote "Rollback the Eagles." I thought it was pretty funny.
