football king, you will soon be hearing about a kid named Bubba Heard at Sinton. He will be taking Marcus Charles' place in the backfield. Charles was fast. This kid's even faster. He won't set any rushing records because of the all-out pro style offense Sinton runs, but he will make an impact.

Those are some pretty amazing numbers right there.

Did I hear that right? Two Heards? One a gazelle, the other (just how fast and big can you be?) has no analogy. Wow that IS impressive! Kellen though was listed as having 5.5 speed in DCTF. I think one of the Salone brothers (his older bro is good too) is a standout junior, but his first name escapes me.

His 40 yd time was taken in offseason in may and was timed at 4.9. This kid is extremly fast for his size, also made all dist.basket ball.

McGee, the QB from Burnet, and Shipley, his receiver would both have to be considered among the top juniors in Region IV.

I'm sorry but Kellen Heard is the most overrated player I've ever seen or coached against. He is HUGE but SOFT. Just watch him on film and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. I guess if you are 6'6, 350, and run a 4.2 you'll get the attention though.

Salone kid from Sinton is T.J. I think. And from what I hear, he's pretty good too!

T.J. is going to be a sophomore, but his cousin, P.J. is going to be a junior, both are good athletes. P.J. also has an older brother, Kenny, who is going to be a senior.

Now you see my confusion on the Salones. I've seen the older two play and they are good ones. DB and linebacker, I believe. One of them doubles as receiver too, I think.

I agree with you Toby, I believe Stephen McGee and Jordan Shipley from Burnet will definitely put up some numbers and get alot of votes for All-State.
McGee's sophomore #'s (93-176-1829yds&20TDS)and Shipley's sophomore stats should have garnered him at least second team All-State last year (47 rec & 1,119yds&15 TDS)
Them are some pretty impressive numbers and they should better them this year.

Go Big Green!

All right Bubba Heard is a Senior, and we're lookin for top Juniors.Sinton does have one junior and his name is PJ Salone! Now he backs up Alaniz at QB but I think they will use him as a receiver and/or DB.could be wrong though. As far as TJ goes,(only a soph)that's wait and see.

Yeah Chris Hart, not bad for their first year in a new system. I'm a Wimberley fan, but I expect huge things from Burnet this year.

kellen heard has no motivation and has the worst attitude of any football player i have ever seen. he will never amount to anything unless he makes some serious changes.

Coming out of 32-AAA in region IV;

Misael "Missile" Iracheta, 400 yard dash state champ. Also went to regionals in the 200 and was the on 4x4 relay team. He barely missed the finals at state, as he had back to back events. After running the 400 (had personal best time at 48.7), he had to run the 200 right after that. By the way two out of 3 runners in the 4x4 relay are also returning letterman who will play football as well.

Out of Mathis we have quite a few juniors that will be playing and have speed. Like Desmond Sanders either he will be in the backfield or a wr.Also Juan Vera will be hb for Mathis and this kid has speed. there is other juniors that i don't know but will get back to you.

Crow, I agree w/you about Heard. He was easily handled when I saw him play last yr. He was smoothed drop by smaller guys. His speed & size was no benefit to him.

I think they have a great opportunity this year to showcase the talent that has always been there. This year they may have the best group of athletes to come through wharton in a long time and these seniors are hungry for some recognition because the past couple of years havent been the best, so i see them coming out pretty strong this season.
