#1 rated offense (470+ yards/game and 40+ points/game) against the second rated defense in 23-3A (allowed the second fewest yards/game). A lot on the line next Friday in Caldwell.

Where do you get the #1 ranked offense stuff from?

Statistically Caldwell is averaging more yards per game than Giddings. LaGrange is giving up the second fewest yards per game on defense. Caldwell has had three 500+ yards nights in its last three games. They have scored 48, 49, and 49 against Robinson, Hutto and Smithville. Sounds like Giddings, if they hadn't fumbled three times, would have put more than 35 on LaGrange. We'll see if the Leopards can stop Canto (4 TD's and 288 yards rushing against Smithville) and rest of the Hornet backs.

But where do you get that they are ranked #1?

Giddings (6-0, 1-0) lived up to its No. 1 billing in Class 3A, using quarterback Brock Fitzhenry to break an early 7-7 tie amd charging past host La Grange (3-2, 0-1) in the District 23-3A opener for both clubs. Fitzhenry ran for 232 yards and two touchdowns while also throwing a touchdown pass to C. J. Brooks. Clayton Allen threw a 9-yard scoring pass to Caleb Miller, but the Leopards managed only 98 yards in offense against a stout Buffalo defense.

Upstart Caldwell (5-0, 1-0 in 23-3A) stayed unbeaten with a 49-14 demolition of Smithville behind running back Xavier Canto's 323 total yards, 288 on the ground.

I could be wrong, but I think he's talking "district".

Let me clarify. I wasn't following what my man from Rockdale was asking. The stats I am quoting are 23-3A folks only. Caldwell has the #1 rated (by yards/game) offense in the district. LaGrange has the #1 rated defense based on fewest yards/game. Giddings is #2 in both offense and defense. Should be a heck of a game on Friday.
