First Round..... Bandera VS. La Vernia

This will be one of the best matchups to see in the first round. I know who I'm going to pick. What does everyone else predict?

I think this will be a GREAT game, and pretty close. I haven't had the oppurtunity to see LaVernia play, but Bandera is a decent team that is capable of putting up some points. I know LaVernia has a good defense, and Bandera does not. I am going to say LaVernia wins this one in a nailbiter 21-20, but if Bandera can find their balance on offense, lookout.

Yes Bandera has a pretty good offense in Hicks, Jennings, and Heep. But I think our defense can shut down the pass. This leaves the running game for Bandera. I don't see Heep putting up over 200 yrds. or even Bandera putting up more than 200 yrds. rushing on our defense. This will be a close game but I think La Vernia wins 35-14.

The winner of the Bandera vs. La Vernia will play the Rice vs. Cuero/Luling winner in the second round. This will be another good game early in th playoffs.

I believe La Vernia will be favored by 14 to 17 in this one. Bandera has lots of tradition, so it probably will be closer than that. I would lean toward La Vernia by 7.
Rice can beat Cuero or Luling and maybe La Vernia too.
