Since all the Polls come from folks from the DFW area for some reason. I decided to do a mid- season Poll separating the Div. I from Div II. Here goes----DIVISION I #1 & #2 tie Sinton and Jasper #3 Wills Point #4 Burnet #5 Bridge City #6 Forney #7 Everman #8 Navasota #9 Quinlan Ford #10 Elgin #11 Graham #12 Barber's Hill #13 Gainesville #14 Abilene Wylie #15 Decatur #16 Snyder #17 Gatesville #18 Gladewater #19 Zapata #20 Pecos DIVISION II #1 Newton #2 Kennedale #3 Bellville #4 Midland Greenwood #5 Perryton #6 Hamshire-Fannett #7 Wilmer-Hutchins #8 Bridgeport #9 Bandera #10 Sweetwater #11 Stafford #12 Edna #13 Commerce #14 Orangefield #15 Longview Spring Hill #16 TX Pleasant Grove #17 Coldspring #18 Marlin #19 Hillsboro #20 Vernon & La Grange & Atlanta (3 way tie)

Old_Card I know me and you disgaree on polls but this one I had to take a double take....you had to have done this one for shock value right? Please tell me you are doing this to getta rise outta me?
Wills Point at 3?? They are good but 3 is a bit high...but I can live with that...

Navasota?? you know they ae 1-3...true they are improving but 8 in Div 1??

Quinlan Ford at 9 is the biggest shock...they are 4-0 but they have played no one..It would surprise me if they even made it to the playoffs

Hutch at 10...well they are gonna be D2...

I think Gainesville is a lil low at 13..

Elgin will be Div 1 they are the largest 3A school in the state.. and Atlanta could likley by Div 1 unless Pleasant Grove or Liberty-Eylau makes the playoffs..

By the way I am not tryin to rip you Old_Card...you just know I have to disagree with you when it comes to polls!

To Matt 328: Thanks for catching my mistake....Please switch Elgin and Wilmer-Hutchins in their places on the Poll......I will stand behind my picking of Navasota because they are in a re-building stage. Look at the teams that beat them: 4A Brenham a 4-0 team ranked in the top 25....4A Austin Anderson, a 5-0 team that is climbing the ladder of success. The only one that worries me is a early loss to Crocket, which as you know can be quite erratic. That big win over Elgin 24-7 has convinced me that their re-tooling is working....Q. Ford? well they have a deep bench as I understand, so we will just have to wait and see, if I have gone mad. It's good, I think, for everyone to formulate their projections. As you know, my thinking is strongly influenced by a teams ability to be capable of subing in replacements that can perform adequately, once you hit the playoffs, where a lot of good players get hobbled. Having a good record in preseason and district, is totally different than the "junk yard dog" winning mentality, that it takes to climb the brackets toward the Championships.

The one that is overrated to me, in most of the polls is Longview Spring Hill-----They have really played a very weak schedule. At least Quintin Ford has big-scoring wins; its hard to tell exactly what they are putting together down there.

Orangefield at # 15, They barely beat Kountze. Give me a break.

Keith, your's to me sounds a little more the way I would have it, except I would switch Spring Hill and Newton. Either way 1 & 2 with them two. Your div. 1 is almost identical to what mine would be.

No offense towards you Old Card, I agree with most of the teams you have in there, just dissagree with the ranking of them. But who knows, you may be closer than Keith and I. I love my Burnet Bulldogs, but I have a hard time moving them out of the 8-15 range.

Keith, I also think you have Bellville a little high also, not alot just a little.

why wouldn't bonham and north lamar count?

Keith, I think you have WP and Forney too far apart in your version. I am comfortable placing us next to each other, they beat Mabank 38-0(right?) we beat Mabank 40-7. That is too close to rate so far apart, and I believe we have just as much depth as them. I think Spring hill is very overrated, so I don't agree with that. And as far as Old_Card's poll, he has WP too high in my eyes. We are good as far as I know, damn good, but I don't see us at 3 right now. We have a ways to go on developing both our offense(utilizing our weapons more!) and defense(defense more!). I think putting us 8 to 10 is more spot on. But this is just me! What do I know?

Kieth7 -
Did you intentionally leave Bridge City out of your poll to get at Old Cardinal, or do you really believe we don't belong there?

Either way, it's your post - I'm just wondering. BC has a very good team. Top 10? Some plays YES, some plays NO. I will say this in our defense - Coach Tarver has subbed a lot players throughout a lot of games, either to measure his depth, or to build it. Not keeping #1 D and #1 O on the field every play has allowed opponents to be successful against us and score points, which doesn't make us cover our "power numbers" or "point spreads", which in turn drops us in the polls - OK with me! I want the team to be alive and healthy, and playing in November!

Absolutely Rabbit. I respect Forney, and know we will surely go up against ya'll in the first round. And I feel extremely confident that we should be rated very close. I think we have more talent on offense, but that ya'll have a tad edge on us as far as defense goes. I guess a lot of it is most ppl believing that we will definately lose to ya'll in first round...
