View Full Version : Region 2 Fans for Rixey (week 7)

Being a Celina homer, I am all for Celina having the game of the week, each and every week. And I goaded Rixey into making Frisco Wakeland vs. Celina the game of week 5 for Region 2. So, that was sort of my fault.

I know Rixey has a tough job as Region 2 coordinator and we shouldn't question his decisions, just as we don't for the MODs. :rolleyes:

So, let's take a look ahead to week 7 and make some suggestions as to the interesting match-ups that might be happening in districts other than District 9 for week 7.

Perhaps this can serve as a sort of primer for Rixey to review before making his decision?

Sorry, but IMO questioning game of the week choices is drastically different than questioning a mod.

Hell, I got crap for 2 years over the games of the week for the entire state and my team wasn't even involved. And that's AFTER I posted threads asking for suggestions. :)

I have to agree!! That was one of our biggest stipulations in choosing Region editors too....you CANNOT be a homer!!

Just ask the new RI editor how many times I have told him that!!!:D :D

I am going to suggest putting each and every one of you MODs on steroids if you don't quit beaching.

Man the estrogen level is just too high. :mad:

There is no such thing as a non-homer. So dream on.

LHPM? P4S? RM? BBenny? Just to name a few homers.

It's lighten up....not toughen up!! (Do you really want us tougher than we already are???:eek: :eek: )

I know Keith was just too busy to do all he wanted to on the Region I page...but I had to laugh when he told me, "you can bet I won't be a homer, I don't see Gainesville being GOTW OR in the top 25 at all this season"!!!:D

I don't think these suggestions are going to provide any value for Rixey. :(

So, for week 7 I think . . .

Hmmmm . . . Think . . . Think . . . (poke myself in the temple) . . . Think . . . Think

Van Alstyne vs. Celina game would be an interesting matchup considiring it is Celina's Home Coming game.

Anybody got any better suggestion? :D

To be perfectly honest, until this issue came up, I couldn't have told you who was GOTW in any other Region but mine. At this point, I am just not concerned about the other regions. Granted, there are a few teams that I follow, but I never know who the Region GOTW teams are....except in Region I.

Now LAST season was a completely different story. We actually had to study them to make our Picks for the pick em game. Well....LHPM and P4S researched them and then sent what they had to me to made an uneducated guess from!!!:D :D

"Mod" beaters with what looks like a big urine stain on it has never done much for me.....sorry!!

yes, and updated every week!

plus, you could look on the main page and see the whole region schedule

or you could use WOS 87's awesome stuff, too

we could have a poll to see which game to use, but then we wouldn't have a specific game poll until wednesday or thursday, instead of saturday or sunday

i am open to any suggestions

Turns out that you are not such a big dummy after all.

I was watching Fox News 4 tonight and they had Celina vs. Pilot Point as one of their choices for Game of the Week. Up against 3 other 4A and 5A games.

Wanna know which game was not on list? Van vs. Brownsboro.

That JUST MIGHT be because they don't cover either of those schools in the Metroplex. Those are schools for news stations in Tyler to cover.

Well back to the topic, how about Brownsboro at Tyler Chapel Hill. Probably the best game with district implications.
