If I recall correctly, he got in trouble with drugs, but I could be wrong.

We recruited him when i was coaching at Blinn. I left a little after he came on board. So I know he began at Blinn but don't know if he eventually got into more trouble,got kicked off, or what...

He isn't on the roster and I think he would of been a senior this year.

Disappointed that Purvey never really made anything of himself, but not entirely shocked. Have a friend whose entire family is from Gainesville and she's had several family members who received athletic scholarships and wound up blowing it doing some ridiculously bone-headed things involving everything from drugs to robbery.

JR Harrison is the only one from her family that I can recall off-hand that has done good for himself after getting a scholarship. Last time I checked he was playing basketball professionally in Europe.
