Schilling threw 7 fantastic innings. Back to Back HRs by Papi and Manny early on gave him a two run lead he ran with.

Bats came out again in late innings to run score up to 9-0, before Gagne came out and let a run score... the only blemish on an almost perfect series.

Only two innings out of series did the Sox pitching give up any runs. Much should be said about the great job Francona did in focusing on getting the rotation lined up those last two weeks of the regular season...

Looks like the Indians could be right behind them, ending Joe Torre's yenure with the Yankees

Ridiculous for Steinbrenner to say stuff like this before today's game. Why would he get rid of Torre?

people want to get all over a-rod some of that should be aimed towards Jeter the way hes playing this series two huge GIDPs have really hurt the Yanks tonight

great job by Schilling...just about everything hit was a routine ground ball ...infield did what they needed to do too...
