What in the heck has happened to McGee's arm? That hail mary came up 5 yards short of the end zone...What in the world is going on with him?

IHStangFan
10-06-2007, 08:24 PM
yup...I'm interested. I think they'll HAVE to crapcan Fran. He has betrayed his players and they are playing like it. I don't care about the dog and pony show that was put on for the media w/ the "oh the players support Fran" BS!! Behind the scenes things are not well at Aggieland.

What was Fran's report on Franks? Is it that he has no hands or he's slow?

I almost hate it when UT loses, because its always the same thing....An A&M thread gets started then the disgruntled UT fans sit around and bash A&M. LOL. typical.

here we go again....THIS is what I don't understand....it seems every time A&M gets in the endzone...Lane is not utilized and we're down there trying to throw short passes. WHAT IS THE DEAL W/ THAT KIND OF PLAYCALLING?!?! It lost the OU game last year!! stupid.

Well then bash UT! Good Lord forbid someone say one negative thing about the team involved in the 2nd biggest game on our schedule every year...lol.

Seriously I wanted to know what it was that Fran said about Franks. I just remember his name being one of those mentioned disparagingly by Fran.

This win is big for the rest of the BIG XII. Every win that Fran gets makes it harder for his boss to fire him despite the outcry to fire him.

I'm taking Tech next week by 30. The potbangers will be out in full force after that one.

Hell yeah it does. The locker room was intense, and after the game it was a great place to be. I think it was really a defining moment for us as a team, even more than the Fresno State game. Good things ARE happening in Aggieland behind the scenes, so don't count us out just yet, we're still sitting on top in the Big XII South last time I checked.

For one more week. The run ends in Lubbock. Hopefully though the game won't have an impact on Fran's job status. Texas and OU need him to stick around while both are going through growing pains.

Tech has had A&M's number in Lubbock since you were about 6 or so. Nothing's changing this time around. If a Mike Leach coached team gets up for one game each year it'd be this one. Tech has the homefield advantage and has the better offense.

Yeah, but they don't have much of a defense, and if ours plays like it did in the second half, who knows what could happen. I'm just going to go ahead and support my teammates and go to practice tomorrow optimistic for a win, regardless of what you might think.

Absolutely. After the first half, I thought this was going to be another Miami. At the end of the third, things were looking good.

I was there, Gary. Amanda and I looked for you, but we were on the student side and couldn't really see the other side of the field.

My thoughts on the game...

-I think everyone picked up on this. Simple, but true, it was a tale of two halves. Like zebra said, the A&M team that took the field the second half was a completely different team than the one that took the field in the first half.

-A&M's inability to stop the run killed them tonight. That little #22 was pretty dang good, but the offensive line made him look even better than he was. If the Ags' d-line can get off the ball quicker, it'll be a completely different story later in the season.

-Sloppy tackling on the Aggies' part. Where were you, Gary? We needed you. Guys weren't wrapping up, weren't breaking down in the open field, tackling too high, and weren't even trying to tackle, just trying to hit. I remember one play in the first half, Zac Robinson took off towards the outside and had two defenders in pursuit with another (I forget who it was) coming up in support. The guy running up from the defensive backfield just put his head down and ran right by Robinson. On another play in the second half, two or three d-linemen had #24 cornered on the right hashes the backfield. They went high, #24 just ducked and cut back inside for a nice chunk of yards. Again, terrible tackling.

-Seemed like the DB's had more problems playing zone than man up. Sure, this may be the best group of WR's in the Big XII (and yes, I'm putting them right there with UT and OU), but A&M did a pretty good job when they slipped into man coverage.

-I hate to say this about a Texas boy, but OSU was a completely different team with Bobby Reid in the game. He's definitely more athletic than Robinson (though Robinson's no slouch), but the offense became stagnant when he entered the game. Looks like Darnell took advantage of it, too, going straight after him with several blitzes right off the bat. Got to him a few times, too, and really disrupted that offense. Huge difference between his ability to handle pressure and Zac Robinson's.

Gary, that defense of yours is pretty close to being a nice little defense. It's the small things that killed you tonight, but nothing that can't be fixed. Big test next week in Lubbock. I'll be there. Good luck, man.

I was standing on the sideline, pretty much just enjoying the game. It was an exciting second half and a fun game to watch, that's for sure.

I'm mainly a lurker but this thread was too good to pass up :)

Both universities are great in my opinion. A&M is stronger in some aspects and UT is stronger in others. In fact I have a friend I graduated with who got her masters at A&M and then attend Law School at UT. She even went to the rose bowl in burnt orange hissssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
