I didn't say it was his fault. I said it'd be the play that's remembered if they don't win.

Charles shouldn't start another game for UT, EVER. If you can't figure out how to hang onto a football by now the odds of pulling a Tiki Barber and doing it later on down the road are slim to none.

You know what's sad? It is this concept called a moral victory.

I hate it that I see this as a moral victory for the Horns because they played the Sooners closer than I thought they would. I figured this would be a blowout.

But there is no substitute for (actual) victory.

The problem with being a Texas fan is that once they've lost twice this early in the season, the tradition is such that there will be very little interest in such a team for the rest of the year, unless one is actually involved with the program.

That's just the way I see it as admittedly somewhat of a fair-weather fan. Texas has now lost MORE games than the Aggies (to whom the Horns lost last year in Austin, lest we forget) this season and yet NO ONE is calling for Mack Brown's job.

"Thank you, Vince Young," Mack says (or ought to) every night in his bedtime prayers.

Well the toughest thing to stomach right now aside from seeing Land Thieves celebrating is that now 4 game losing streak in the Big XII. Anytime you've done something that hasn't been done since Mackovic patrolled the sidelines you've got some major problems. Obviously something here is broke and broke badly. I'm not even really feeling all that confident right now about beating Tech or A&M this year.

Colt really didn't do anything that merits his job being taken from him, but with a season now lost I wonder if Chiles now sees the field more to help determine what he's capable of doing outside of running an occasional zone read.

KTA has no class he tried to fight a Graham coach last year when he wouldnt play his buddy. His buddy diddnt deserve to see the field either. go back to wally world

You kidding me? There was NOTHING CLOSE to being a fight, I told him I didnt think it was right on SR night a SR didnt get 1 snap. Me and him talked it over and everything is ok. Yeah the kid wasnt very good, but he didnt deserved to be held out on SR night.

But while you wanna try to take personal shots why dont you post who you really are on here, it dont take somebody to be very manly to hide behind a user name....coward

I agree that McCoy shouldn't be scapegoated.

But I also think he has lost his putative hold on the starting QB position through 2009.

I think next spring there ought to be a real free-for-all QB competition, with all comers on an equal footing with him and no favoritism because he has started in the past.

That will include G.J. Kinne, who is being redshirted, as well as John Chiles and Sherrod Harris.

Especially with QB's in the 2009 class such as Russell Shephard. Next year I see Chiles beating out Colt if not by the end of this season...we can only hope.

You're probably right. I can actually see this happening. I'd hope Harris and Kinne get an equal shot at it in spring ball. Something has to change. I think there's going to be A LOT of positions up for grabs once this season is over.

Why is Jamaal Charles starting? His fumble at the 5 yd line going in to start the 3rd qtr was the momentum swing. He also should have caught the pass Colt threw to him that he tipped into an INT! This guy averages a fumble a game?????

Mack and Co. say that they are "experienced" and they don't get their playmakers on the field.

It so easy to place blame in Colt's direction. He threw 1 high pass (that probably could have been caught). Other than that, I thought he has a solid game. Colt is not the team. I mean, look at his stat line -
att com int yrd td
19 26 1 324 2

That's hard to beat. It's easy to assume that Chiles would come in and take the reins - because he's not in there taking the snaps.

If it wasn't for the Rice game(cause rice sucks) this would be his TD/INT ratio

7 TD's/10 INT's

That isn't getting it done at all!

HELLO! Did you see the 285 lineman bearing down on him??? Just an easy throw...

COLT is not the reason the Horns lost. A defense that allowed two 80+ yd drives....an OL that can't block, and a RB who FUMBLES EVERY GAME. Chiles is not the answer....he has played QB for less than 2 years....

Chiles is not the answer....he has played QB for less than 2 years.... That DL was 2 yards away. Colt is playing scared in the pocket. He was falling back just because the defender is near him and he doesn't want to take a big shot. That's what is causing his balls to get tipped and batted and under thrown. It is rediculous if you think it's his lines fault. He had time all day and was dancing around in the pocket as if he was getting pressured. And when he did get pressured he would run right into it and not away from it.

I guess the ou DE Austin was just a figment of Colt's imagination, Colt was sacked 6 TIMES...put your crack pipe down.. the OL play was POOR.

Thanks Coach!!

Heres what I dont seem to understand. If UT doesnt plan on continuing to run the "VY" system, why do they keep on recruiting dual threat QB's? I know McCoy isnt dual threat, and it seems to me that they cant use the entire playbook when he is in. His play today didnt kill them, and I agree the D played HORRIBLE. But he did come up short when they counted.

It was a great game. UT made just a few too many mistakes but this was a game between two fairly evenly good teams. Let's just hope UT doesn't make it five in a row again or worse.

When you lose the turnover battle pretty mcuh every game and have a piss poor pothetic kickoff coverage that gives the opposing team great field position you are gonna struggle. Texas looked great at time and just bad at times. We didnt make the better halftime adjustments and they did. Im now 100% anit jamaal charles fan, this is just pothetic, his fumble on the 5 yard line cost us the game today, yes, I think if we woudl of scored there it would of made it a different ball game. Even though I want Greg Davis' head, he had a good game plan today we just came up a bit short. Duane Akina is not what we thought he would be, on the bright side.... We might be able to get Greg Robinson back after he gets fired from Syracuse!:D

The bulk of the blame has to be on Charles this game. The fumble and the tipped pass (I know it was a little bit high, but I thought he got enough of his hands on it to bring it down) was the difference in the game.

That being said, Tech still has to stop UT from scoring, which I doubt they'll do too well. But I could see Tech winning that game just because they will outscore UT. Should be a high-scoring affair.
