This is Bobcat Benny's 3A football primer for you.

1. This is 3A football.
2. Stadiums in 3A football have a tendancy to be smaller so arrive early.
3. We have courteously provided a nice set of visitor bleachers.
4. There are long standing traditions at many schools.
5. In Celina, students show up for the game and cheer for their team passionately. There is school spirit.
6. Try to move a large group of people into the home stands when the students vacate their section to traditionally escort their team onto the field (i.e. the victory line) at the start of the evening. The Celina police will remove you from our stands. :D

Bonus Point 7: Never have your spirit crew come and try to lead cheers on the home sideline. Coach Ford will personally remove you from our sidelines.

Bonus Bonus Point 8: This is your excuse to go ahead and sign up in the 3A Down Low and inform me how the town of Celina is not your favorite place to watch a football game. (talk to Pilot Point and Prosper fans they will explain)

celina was always my favorite place to play, other than at home. but of course i never lost there. ;) i always like kicking field goals either over the net and into the creek on one side, or aim for people in line at the concession stand on the other side.
i can't believe that those people really did those things. that's crazy, good for butch. too bad they won't be around long enough to enjoy small school football. they will never have to learn about leaving quilts in the stands on thursday night to reserve a seat for friday night.
after reading that stuff, i really hope pp and prosper beat them. it looks like its gonna be a dog fight b/w wakeland, pp, prosper, and whitesboro for the last two playoff spots...

No change at this point, I did not get any calls or emails from the Wills Point Commish last night. I will see them tomorrow when I go to drop off this weeks donations.

I will update the sticky thread as soon I have more info.

Thanks for asking.

From what I was told he ducked his head while trying to tackle our RB.

Does anyone know why the three Wakeland fans were arrested on the Celina side? That was the first time since Gainesville in '02 that I saw our police officers have to work on Friday night.

I think after the Star Spangled Banner, Wakeland was just not happy. Some people don't know how to be unhappy without going to jail. :D Then they promise to be happy while being unhappy. :p

I ditto that BC Benny! It was absolutely unbelievable how rude some of the FW fans were.

Thanks for your post.

I just had to say something. I got there about 5 30 because I knew it was going to be a special crowd. I took my son who plays pee wee( and shows great DE instincts) out on the field with our ball and had a little fun playing and talking to Coach Hutson. Jared is in Mrs. Hutson's class... My Wife came in about the end of the first quarter saying that Frisco people were being escorted out of the stadium and they were very unhappy. I was just wondering what made them think they could come in and do what ever they wanted in someone else's house. But on the other hand there were many good and courteous fans there as well and I thank you for that.

Benny, thanks for the concise summation of the evenings events leading up to and about the mysterious disappearance of the Wolverine football team sometime after the national anthem.

Could this thread be anymore condescending?

We're you there?

During prayer for game kick off FW students (who decided to move and sit in the Celina student section while they were in the victory line) were being loud and obnoxious. During halftime everyone was asked to be respectful and be quite to honor the Junior Celina Student who just passed away, which they could not do, they even went as far as to scream "Go Wolverines".

A FW student swore @ a cop and refused to listen to him!

We are not being condescending; we are being real people, pointing out our surprise of the lack of respect and courtesy that was shown to other human beings. Thought that was common in the real world and especially TX HS FB. I've NEVER seen this type of disrespect at a single game until this past week's game.

I recall that at the JV game this past Thursday that when a FW player got injured, Celina's entire stand of fans were dead silent and clapped and continued to clap while the young man was taken out on a stretcher. That's respect!

Just my opinion.

Now whose talking!

For a mom who is a 'new' bobcat mom, my glasses are not orange colored yet. As a mom & a human being, I am looking through kind, courteous , respectful glasses...thank you.

I'm sure everything was justified by the ending score.

This reminds me a little of the Gainsville era when they first came to town.

Wow. If they were unhappy before kickoff, then......
