You might try calling Bobcat Kuntry around 9pm. They should know the halftime score. I'll call them in a few minutes.

Halftime ended about ten minutes ago

Interception puts Celina in lead, 22-0
Sophomore linebacker Caleb Lavey returns a Will Secord interception 33 yards for a score. If you are a Wakeland fan, this is ugly. Wakeland is 0-for-6 passing and a minus six rushing.

---after this, Celina drove down to the Wakeland 7 with only a few minutes remaining. Couldn't punch it in, but Wakeland drove down the field only to fall a few yards short as time expired in the half

Celina, Frisco Wakeland halftime stats
If you are a Wakeland fan, brace yourself:
Wakeland rushing: 6 attempts for 3 yards.
Wakeland passing: 1-13-1, 22 yards
Wakeland first downs: 4 (two on Celina personal fouls)
Time of possession: 6:04


Celina rushing: 30 attempts for 200 yards. Charley Waldrep is 14 for 105 yards, 2 TDs
Celina passing: 4-9-0, 44 yards
Celina first downs: 16
Time of possession: 17:56

Needless to say, Celina's offensive line is dominating. I can't imagine things getting much better for Wakeland defensively. The odds of Wakeland making a huge comeback are like mine getting a chance to date Norah Jones - no chance.

this is absolutely great news for celina fans, in more ways than just this win

this shows the Bobcats still might have 'it'

as bobcats go, 'it' is pretty important for a successful season

I wonder if they would mind lending 'it' to the Horns tomorrow.
They would only need it for about 4 hrs. :D

Game ended at 36 to zip.

Played a lot of subs almost all of the fourth. Wakeland could never do anything on O. Had the QB watching the rush instead of his receivers. When he tried to sprint out a linebacker took him down before he could throw. Their D was not bad. Just not up to handling us. It looks right now like this district may have a couple of good fights for second and third.
Whitesboro has a real shot IMHO.

pretty good for a team that struggled last week against Princeton

However, 71-6 in two district games isn't a bad start

Lacked focus and needed a challenge. Perfectly drawn up game plan by the coaches executed flawlessly by the team. Were they perfect? Not hardly, but then they know that too. I saw tonight what we can do when we want to. Heck of a team effort. Congrats Cats!:clap: :clap: :clap:

Final stats:

Celina 293 yards rushing, 92 yards passing - 385 total yards
Wakeland -2 yards rushing, 2-21-1 for 27 yards passing - 25 total yards

I believe that was the best game that I have seen Celina play in two years, especially on D. Wakeland was not that bad. They had guts and speed but were just man-handled from the start. We did not have a run over 20 yards but only punted once. Offensive line was awesome and Waldrep looked like he is starting to feel better (132 yards rushing).

The new helmets with the C on them and the stripe down the middle looked great. The all orange uniforms with the sea of orange in the stands looked awesome. All Orange Power was on display last night. Now Wakeland and Celina know how good we both are. I think they had 25 total yards of offense. Absolutely awesome game plan followed with great execution. :clap: :clap: :clap:

Absolutely bobcat1. Coach Ford was in rare form. I loved it.

Coach Ford is always a passionate guy, but he convinced me tonight.

When he personally ran the Wakeland folks off of our sideline before the game started, I immediately knew the hammer was about to fall.

It is a long story that I am going to address in another thread.

My preference too. But, I prefer this to the white helmets with the orange "C" and orange face masks.

Last year's all orange was my favorite.

Last year's all orange was my favorite. True i've seen pics of the white helmets that they once wore. Honestly I didn't know who the team was till i saw Celina written on the jersey. orange helmet is just a celina thang.
