Nope never have. Looks like a QB kneel formation(their coaches variation of it)

VAMike...I got a question for you. A team is down by 5 with 2 seconds left and they are just a yard from scoring the winning TD. After the snap, the RB takes the ball, get tangled up with a defender who pulls the RB's helmet off. The RB breaks free and falls into the endzone. What happens? I know when a helmet comes off a play is dead, so does the game end like that?

Didn't think of that...I just meant that he grabbed the headgear (lets say anywhere but the facemask)

Forney runs something like that now. Except the full back is standing up where the RB would be in a normal shotgun, and the RB back behind.

If you get up under the rim I think it's still a penalty.

Interesting...ok, one more question. The defender just flat out nails the guy and his helmet flys off. The RB shakes lose though and gets to the endzone.

If there is a foul involved with the helmet coming off then the offense would get to run another play on an untimed down after the penalty was enforced. If it just came off through legal play, then the ball is dead and the game is over

Cool...Thanks for the answer. Never seen that happen, but I guess it could. Better button those chin straps tight - would suck to lose because your helmet fell off when you could have scored the winning TD.

In that formation they are wingbacks. At least that's what we called them in college when we lined up in a similar formation.

I don't know what the formation is called, but it looks like they are fixing to run a double lead somewhere toward the middle, or maybe they just want it to appear that way.
