Anyone can get hot and the Rockies and Phillies are the hottest. Don't know if the rush of getting in last minute will drain all the emotion from their series' or not (if the rockies win tonight that is).

Gotta show some homie love and go with the Cubs. Have been a Cubs fan since I was 5 (that was 1965 for those who are counting). Only the fourth time in my life they have made the playoffs.

When they lose, oh well, just another day. When they win, the sun is a little brighter the sky a little bluer - but when they make the playoffs...................ooohhhhhhhh baby.

I'll go with the Cubs and dream back to the many, many days I sat in the bleachers at Wrigley and watched them get creamed.

In the imortal words of Ernie Banks - lets play two.

Indians over Phillies.

Phillies are confident and on fire, and capable of manufacturing runs in a variety of ways, especially with Jimmy Rollins at the top.

The Indians have a great matchup against the weaker starting pitching of the Yanks. They'll throw Sabathia and Carmona, which sets up great for a short series, and I think they take the ALCS as well.

Hope I'm wrong, hope it's Red Sox over Cubs, but Cleveland/Philly are hot right now.

In this millenium, no team has won more than one championship. There has been a different team every year since 2000:

2000: Yankees
2001: Diamondbacks
2002: Angels
2003: Marlins
2004: Red Sox
2005: White Sox
2006: Cardinals

With that string, I'm eliminating the Yankees, Angels, Red Sox, and Diamondbacks. At least one Wild Card has made the World Series in every season since 2002. If I'm eliminating the Yanks, Angels, and Red Sox, that means my best bet is to pick Cleveland to represent the AL. Since I need a Wild Card, Colorado represents the NL. After three straight years of winning the World Series, Wild Cards have lost the last two.

So by using history as an example (because we know that history repeats itself), I'm assuming that a wild card will lose this World Series.

So my final prediction:

Indians over Rockies

crzy - only flaw I saw in your logic was the pattern of AL/NL winner the whole thing

American -2000
National - 2001
American - 2002
National - 2003
American - 2004
American - 2005
National - 2006
National? - 2007

That means the Rockies are champs. They win in game seven in the 10th and Holliday actually touches the plate on his slide into home this time. I wish it was the Cubbies but there's always next century!

Let it be the Rox

I think they are the team to beat

no pitching after Wang and Pettitte. Clemens is washed up, Hughes has no experience, Mussina has been more inconsistent than a weather forecast.

The Yankees will face Sabathia and Carmona twice in their five game series...they'll have to win at least two of those games, which is highly unlikely.

Oh, and A-Rod has about as many clutch postseason hits as me and you combined.
