This was one of the greatest games ever played and a lot has been posted about it but after research and work I found out who the UT mystery band girl was that was showned during the game. You can sometimes see this game on ESPN Classics.
The girl was Marilyn Edwards. Of course now she is married and is Marilyn Edwards Duvon. She and her family live in Austin and she is a school teacher and was once awarded the honor as teacher of the girl. She has a daughter attending LSU and her son is working on his MBA at UT. Life has been good to her and that is great.
Also the cheerleader that did the flips after the famous long pass is Terry Parker.
