Lorena must really have a Champion's heart! They won many Bracket games by only one run--Beat Jasper 7-6; Beat Woodville 1-0; Beat Woodville 8-7: Beat Daingerfield 4-3; and beat Sinton 3-2...Congratulations to Lorena, you represented Region III very well!

OC, that not only says a lot about Lorena, but also about the competition they faced all the way up to State. We had some great teams who played some great baseball this year. Lorena, though, was the team who was able to gut it out and pull off all those games. Way to go, Leps.

I don't know much about the rest of the Lorena team but a soph. Adam Hournug had a pretty good state tournament. Against Sinton, he tripled in the 8th and scored the go ahead run, pitched the eighth inning and got the save, then was voted the newcomer of the year AND the state tournament MVP.

Lorena came from the toughest region(3) which is why they had close games. if they would have played in any other region I believe that they wouldn't have more than 1 tough series during their state title run. Not trying to put down any teams in the other regions just believe that they are that good.
